Get yourself a coach/senior player at your club that you trust and value thier point if view and ask them to work with you. Couple of hours a week and you should see some rapid improvement.

Remember though you are a run scorer not a batsman. By that I mean work with you coach to find out what works for you. As long as you have the basics which you seem to have then you will be fine. No good looking the part and not scoring any runs. Give me Simon Katich over Ian bell any day of the week.

Might be worth adding that you started playing cricket at 16 as well bud, I'm not a coach but I've told you to keep it simple. You try to be KP with a huge flourish and try massive flamboyant drives on the up. Listen to the coaches comments on the forum and put them into practice.

Nets tomorrow then for you 2 then haha. Next time you net try and bat for 1/2 hour without getting out. Ie if you are out your out. Concentrates the mind a bit and bit more of a match situation.

What number do you bat ?

To me your bottom hand looks like it's positioned on the handle (the v running between the spine and the inside edge) so that it wants to constantly close the face of the bat.

Do you mean he is strangling the handle so to speak? My grip on the bottom hand is thumb and 2.5 fingers in backlift. Little finger does not touch the handle atall and next one up is only really resting

Hey Daniel, just a pre-warning, I have no coaching qualifications, and I have been a bowler for pretty much as long as I remember, and have only really been able to hold a bat for 2 seasons now! :-[ (Have improved quite a bit mind you!)

This pic is from your video, around 3:52 and is just before you get bowled. You end up with your head slightly out of line, and you get bowled trying to flick it. I think this is because you are walking into each shot, and may be what is causing the 'kick' towards point at the end of your shot. Maybe a thing to try is place 4 tennis balls on cones in front of you, and step towards each tennis ball, striking it towards the direction you are stepping in, making sure that you try not to kick your foot out. The reason for this is you play nice cover drives, but for some balls you could have hit towards cover, you ended up hitting to mid-on and mid-wicket. I think this is where head position is key, but also noticed that you tend to point your foot straight more often than not playing your shots.

That ball you played towards cover. The tennis ball exercise could help with you pointing your foot to where you are generally going to hit the ball. I think it might also be the reason why if you look at the ball positions at the end of the video, most of them are in the midwicket region. Perhaps it could be because the 'walking into your shot' is causing you to square up on contact with the ball?

Anyways, I'm by no means a batsman, and I play at a relatively low standard, but it's just my view on things. :) Hope it helps!

So Chad, how would you rectify the problem? You're bang on with your assertions as far as I'm concerned but what would be the major thing you would suggest working on? What would you be looking for when stepping towards the ball? Seems like you're pretty switched on with what you're looking for, and would make a good coach :)

As a bowler I see either a nick to 1st-2nd slip or bowled between the gate.... i can't help you with how to improve but only suggestion i would make based on the pics...

1 - front foot not moving towards the ball / direction you wish to hit the ball in (more so in pic two)
2 - massive gap between bat and pad, most likely due to point #1 as your upper body is moving away while the lower body is planted to get to the ball.
