She will promote womens cricket and cricket alround as the game that WHO EVER YOU ARE YOU CAN JOIN IN! that's the point right?
Taylor shouldn't be selected solely to promote cricket, that's for the wrong reasons. She should be selected if she's good enough, and that remains to be seen.
But here's a question. Should the women’s game be allowed to grow, away from Men's cricket? As it stands, Women's international cricket is not the pinnacle of the game. Instead they're aspiring to play Men's cricket, and it's as if Men's 2nd XI cricket is being seen as a higher aspiration for them.
If Women seek to just play Men's cricket, will their game wver be regarded as quality in it's own right? (in the way Women's tennis, or Women's football is beginning to be seen as) Could women playing mens cricket actually be counter productive to the cause?
