We use A ie for bats pros would use but with bats with the tsi its B even thow the tsi makes no diffents to how the bat plays
Right, but a grade a bat isn't necessarily one made of grade 1 willow. Ot just means a pro can use it.

Reading this thread has opened my eyes to butterfly stains. My GM Epic has a butterfly stain and was worried about the performance.

Are there any downsides to butterfly stains except the asthetics?

Grade A bat is surely just the rules that are made for the international/professional players bats that most bat company's abide by? As Dean said there bats are Grade A, which refers to the point that his pro's use the bats. The only bat's that are Grade B are the ones with the TSI in.

Adidas sticker there low end bats with a Grade A sticker, and I'm in no doubt they aren't grade one willow.

Either way this bat's a cannon, it does sound a bit hard but it flies, and hopefully as it opens up it'll get better

Grade A, B and C is different from Grade 1, 2 and 3
Grade A etc refers to the laws of cricket and what bats are allowable at what levels

G1, 2, 3 etc refers to the cleanliness of the willow cleft face as frequently initially shown Wrights grading

G1, 2, 3 etc refers to the cleanliness of the willow cleft face as lead from Wrights.

True.. Now... But in the past grade A referred to the quality of the willow and as The_Bird was quoting off Warsops website they say "Grade A Timber" which to me means they are referring to the willow grading.

I think the point we were making is that the statement on Warsop's site is dumb as it doesn't tie in with either the MCC or Wright's definition.
