Facing right arm round/left arm over bowling. As a left hander I'm pretty comfortable with the angle of standard right arm over but never quite so at home when the angle is changed

Have just worked on counter attacking, having discussed batting without enough courage last week on tour (still had beer goggles on) with my coach, we discussed how to get out of a defensive rut, and to take advantage of the bad balls. As Buzz has said it is so much in our head! So the coach wanted to highlight that I have it in my locker.

I had a bucket of balls swinging in and away, which I managed to keep out and then I was set the challenge of looking for singles, then the next bucket to look for twos, then the last three buckets to really attack, it felt ace to just have a go! I was quite shocked at first but I was in control, and didn't play and miss for 66 balls in a row, I dug out the Yorkers, left the bouncers and smashed everything else with power and control, both back over the bowler and along the ground.

I hate it at the nets when people just slog then they wonder why they get caught out in matches!  Setting yourself targets or working on specifics helps, it really does.

After one club net session (15 minute bat, faced about 12 deliveries that were any good) I decided to go for a couple of 1-on-1 coaching sessions at Bristol indoor school. Now working at simplifying everything and play straighter as we aren't going to be getting any fast, bouncy wickets for a few months.
