Boycott having a massive rant about the fact we only had one warm up whilst they spent the rest of the time dicking about playing golf. I don't like him, but has a point.

Knight shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a microphone, he's not popular in the dressing room either by all accounts.

Well up for Trott smacking them about today

I like Boycott, he speaks his mind etc. I completely agree with him over warm ups. Some of our players won't have played a innings for ages so need loads of time at the crease to hit top form. Bit like some of our clubs going right into the league season with none or the odd one warm up game and expecting people to play well. It's more luck than anything if you're going into a league game having spent <10 overs at the crease!

The bowler and bowling coach were discussing Bell earlier and with McCullum there it was a complete set up. I didn't want to be right about Mr Bell though :(

Maybe he should be given this series to prove himself too !

That's one way of putting it, I was at least trying not to make my dislike for him too obvious when I posted  :-[

I like him, his technique and every at the crease I just can't understand why he plays some of these shots!

We in this country have a fascination with technique.. As soon as someone (at whatever level) 'looks' the part they are lauded as awesome batsmen. No matter what.

Bell does look immense when batting and some of hte shots he plays look stunning. His problem is his mental side, he just doesn't seem able to consistently cope with that side of the game, which is a shame as it's such a waste of talent.

Let us suppose for one minute that he scores a century in the second innings. Should we still drop him?

I think Bell must know when the pressures really on regarding his place in the side, the goes and scores a ton.
I don't think anyone is doubting the fact he is a very good batsmen. I don't dislike him, I just wish he'd use his talent to more effect

Frankly, on today's showing, you could say the same of all the batsmen so far, maybe excepting trott...
