Watching KP play left arm spin is still comical.

How can I player like KP still have such a major issue with left arm orthodox spin!! Surely he's not so arrogant as to fob it off in practice and fail to get it sorted.

Didn't Dravid spend some time with him trying to polish up his technique? It worked for a while but he seems to have reverted to his old ways....have to say I think this guy Davidson, whilst not a world beater is better than average, he keeps things tight and builds pressure well...

Another Bell failure when it matters, all the form in the world coming into this series but seemingly still missing a bit between the ears.

Root could break his leg and I'd still prefer him over Samit Patel! Patel is not an international player, let alone test standard

Impatient batting from both Bell and Root. NZs bowling has deserved more respect in this session

Good to see KP prepared to work a bit for his runs

Well on the basis of records I guess there not much to choose between them .

I suspect you have never seen samit build and play a decent innings

Look at root first class record it suggest a average player

England pick him for a reason

Now I not saying he is better was more tongue in check but I will roll with it.

This can't be wilkies granny... She's far too fast with those needles. And she's not making soft pockets either. What a let down

Roots fine. Just needs a darn good run at 6 to bed in. This is why he is not ready for opening. Let the guy become test player first.

As for Bell... Useless.

I have seen Samit build an innings and he is effective in the county game there is no denying. However, like you said there is not a lot to choose between them, but I don't see "Fat Sam" as a good advert for international cricket.

Then again it gives me the hope "If Patel is fit enough to play for England I have half a chance"
