mine kept rolling off  :o

Found another thread where Tom weighed his Ayrtek Elite Ti at 602g. Colesy do your bats weigh 2oz ?

2.11 atm, picks up a lot lighter!

Not sure to be honest why it's come up so light.

An ayrtek RAW is just an elite without paint isn't it?

Ayrtek Premier (Fibreglass) with Ti Grill - 721g (not certain this is 100% as it took an effort to keep them on the scales)

I've got the exact same helmet and mine weighs 742g

It was tough to keep my blue RAW on the scales, but i'm fairly certain that it's accurate. It does feel slightly heavier than my masuri keepers lid.

Ayrtek RAW Ti - 740g

Ayrtek Elite Ti - 642g

GM Purist senior Ti - 577g

I don't know why there is such a significant difference... The elite is an older model and this RAW is a new model... I don't know why it is heavier by that much though... Maybe the carbon fibre shell is slightly thicker? I'm a little gutted though that it is that heavy compared to the older model!

I kicked mine back to the pavilion after some idiot ran me out. That's where the the missing 20grams went. ;)

My old Masuri was volleyed clean over a two story pavilion in July after i got stiffed LBW by a normally very good umpire, i had absolutely smashed it, furious! Called him a *!*! and pointed my bat at him and of course subsequently received the customary fine. If i do it again this season then i get a ban and a fine, and robin will get a fine for not controlling his players as he's the skipper.

The lid cracked practically in two, i swear by the time i finally stopped using it in September it was just the cloth holding it together.

We had one of our lads run out last season and they took their Albion off and kicked it. The game was then held up while he collected the various bits of his lid from the outfield, it literally shattered when it "met his foot". I'm not sure if this is a scientific test but does that make Masuri safer than Albion as it was still in one piece??  ;)

Depends if they are bowling cricket shoes at you I suppose :D

I think the idea that the lid shatters on impact is partially to help defuse the strike, so perversly it may actually be a good thing.
From a safety perspective, the plastic Albion helmets are actially better than the Masuri or Albion ones in my view, because of the shape and strength of visor.
The issue that we have seen, however is that people like to "look the part" so the Masuri is always the first choice - I am as guilty of this as the next person.

The Stig always give me abuse for this...

We've stopped stocking Albion as they have chosen to break their deal with incredible cricket and go with some really shoddy distributors who have messed us around no end in the past. I still have some club mkII's and possibly an Ultimate 98 that I'll weigh. I'll also weigh the Masuri Club.

There is some fluctuation with the carbon helmets as they are handmade and the amount of resin used will affect the overall weight. Our newest to grille is also slightly heavier as well as we had to decide between the finish or the grills shells vs the weight of them both.

The older shells don't have as smooth a surface finish as the newer ones in terms of appearance but are lighter overall due to this factor. We have worked hard to prove the finish which meant having to increase the weight as a compromise on some.

Needless to say we're tryin to achieve both the finish and weight combo to tick both boxes.

The lid iv got in my kit bag was 589g I think last time I weighed it!
