Hi guys
Following the various discussions on HitsHard Andrew Kember just asked me to include this statement from him as clearly the wedsite is not yet finished.
“HitsHard is a new sister brand to Salix, made by us but aimed at a slightly different audience as it hits lower price points. Concentrating grading onto performance, the bats are still manufactured from the top grades of willow, but will feature more two tone timber.
With flatter faces, huge edges and outrageous power these bats do indeed Hit Hard but there's also Salix finesse in their pick up and finish. They have their own identity and real soul with classic '50s styling (think diners and embossed Greyhound chrome), but we have also raided the Salix archives for cutting paths and details like the flared labels at the toe. The seniors are in two grades (Super Grade One and Super Power), juniors in Super Power only. Equipment includes a wheeled kitbag, duffle, pads and gloves all now available; these have all been designed as we do Salix, so originally drawn, but are supposed to be fun, to have a slightly cheekier image, hence the name Mojo.
There is also a more serious side in that I want HitsHard to be a development brand, to help us expand our apprenticeships to train up more batmakers in manufacturing from the cleft, so they can cut their teeth on HitsHard. This reflects my own training and where my real passion and commitment lie.
There will of course be more information soon on the website, but the bats and kit are ready to go and available from the workshop or through Facebook. If anyone has any queries, I am, as always, available to speak to directly at the workshop.
Many thanks,
Andrew”
