Hi all,

Just to let you know I am currently in the process of having better quality images done (not a lot of time spare at the moment due to my final university exams being on!). As soon as they are done I will get them uploaded for you all to see.

@Fasteddie the pictures you have commented on were uploaded by our extremely happy customers and tweeted to us, they were not uploaded by us. I will never complain about a pleased customer, after all in today's business world the customer comes first and so they should! I created Neon as a way of providing the best quality cricket equipment at the lowest prices.
My pads are priced at £50 and the gloves at £35. These are identical to another brand made by the same manufacturer as Neon's (mentioning no names) who charge £100 and £50 respectively (and thats without pittards palms too!). By providing these prices I hope to put an end to people being charged over the odds when there just isn't the need, I want to provide every cricketer with the chance to use test match quality goods without paying £100's for them. This is the main reason this year I didn't invest as heavily in images and the website, the only way I would have been able to invest at the same level as other companies this year would have been to increase my prices (not something I want to do anytime soon!). As a final year university student money was tight so I  had to make do with what resources I could muster with basically no budget at all! I am only a few weeks away from finishing now and with a new job beginning in July I will have plenty of funding available to improve on the points you have highlighted before the year is out, Hope this answers your queries as to why the images aren't up to the same grade as other comparable companies out there!!

Thanks for all your interest and hopefully some of you will be joining in with Neon soon!

Best Wishes,
Adam

That's a bloody good comeback Adam!

Congratulations mate, the gear looks decent and you seem to know where you are going. Wish you all the best fella. I will say though, this forum is very very knowledgeable and we are spoilt with regards to the people we deal with here. Please understand that people will question your business style, resources, knowledge, customer focus etc but it's not a load of keyboard warriors, it's people being constructive. A few of them know what they're talking about.

You would be amazed at the amount of rubbish you see passing through here, new brands coming on and giving it the biggun and charging £350+ for a G1 bat etc.

All the best pal

You misunderstand my post. I'm not having a pop.
Never mind.

It's all about detail, that kind of behavior is free and sets aside the mediocre.

Sorry but if you want everyone to walk around with rose colored specs then you are being a tad naive.
The chap is at Uni and as such should be fully aware of the requirements of any business at launch.

It's about doing the basics right.
I'm not being harsh. I've made similar mistakes many years back.

If you're going to launch then get it right before you hit the start button. That looks so much slicker.

It only takes a few well placed phone calls and he could have some professional's look over the site and proposition before launch.

Attention to detail is everything.

It's genuine and well considered feedback. If he reads it and thinks about the points then I hope it can add some value to the proposition.

He has an altruistic motive, why not make that the force and drive the message through that point.

I really hope I can go through life being as perfect as you seem to think you are. I am sorry but this is the second company along with Hammer that you have picked part for no reason other than the fact that you do not like it. You are more than happy to praise anything that you personally own such as H4L and Aldred but other things you seem to pick apart with no real advice. You seem to be or think you are good at business, how about some polite advice for astudent doing this as a hobby.

If I have spelt anything incorrectly or my grammar is not to your standard I'm sure you will point I out to me.

Ok, so you seem to have completely missed the point!

I had a private email exchange with the proprietor and it was perfectly civil and constructive.
You chipping-in some time after seems as if you have stumbled across a conversation which has been, gone, and both parties are smiling.

To answer your point is to give it credence when it is frankly misplaced, patronizing, and lacking any kind of understanding of either the context or content. However, as you are so far away from reality I shall answer you.

What is wrong with giving honest feedback, and if you have experience in a certain field why not pass it on in an honest and open manner.

I work with the entrepreneurial and careers departments at two of the world's top business schools and I can tell you that the standards of start-ups is exceedingly high. The barriers are low and competition fierce. The entrepreneurs, who I work with, and are coming out of Universities are highly competitive and seek out and perfect the levels of detail I have mentioned in my previous posts. That is the competition. Why not politely pass on that information. It's valuable and relevant.

Sorry, but if you don't like an honest opinion from an experienced source then you should put your rose colored specs on, watch the Emperor's new clothes on TV, and bury your head in the sand with all the other dinosaurs out there.

Praise is given in equal measure of honest feedback. The products I have bought have been well researched and first class.

Hammer? Well, as they are based in the USA I shall put a local analogy on them.....they are a car crash when it comes to PR. Tell me I'm wrong and I shall retire. What's wrong with pointing that out.

Should there be a 'rose colored' filter to run alongside the swear box?
