http://www.gm-cricket.com/range/adult_bats/mana-f45-dxm.aspx

Blade lengths should be advertsied in my opinion, but if the bat is the correct size overall it isn't a massive issue.

The suggestion is Kippax is shorter overall, which is something i expect to see from a CA when someone brings it in to have its shonky handled fixed.

Sorry I missed it!  Apologies to GM!

When I first saw this I thought it maybe a made to measure bat, but I have seen half a dozen and all are the same 1cm shorter overall. I agree this should be advertised and the buyer should be made aware. As the young lad who was using said bat thought it have been customised specifically for him and he was 6ft 1.

is there a standard SH overall length, I've always found it to be pretty variable.

33 and half inches is the standard length for a short handle. There is no issue with making bats shorter as long as you make your customers aware of this. Otherwise it falls in to the realms of false advertising, plus these bats are not cheap.

Just line one up with a normal short handle bat and see how they measure up.

I was always under the impression that the PureBlade is just a standard SH bat and the Colossus is a SH length bat with longer handle and shorter blade?

Anyway, this topic made me dig my tape measure out and have a look.

It appears that........ The PureBlade is just a standard SH bat and the Colossus is a SH length bat with longer handle and shorter blade!

For anyone that's picky, the Colossus is perhaps one sixteenth of an inch shorter than the PureBlade.  All SH bats I've had from various manufacturers generally fall somewhere between 84 & 85cms and both these bats fall within that category.

The mystery is solved 😄

@Andythomo21 see you are still left with a impressive kippax collection! Would you mind some profile comparisons and letting me know what you think. Always wondered what the colussus plays like based on the edge / spine size etc

Is it my imagination, or do a couple of those look thinner than the others?
(It's probably just the camera angle...)

Interesting!!  I never actually measured width.  Does these mean I'm going to have to get the tape measure and bats out again?  :D

@Ams4287 I'll get some profile pics on when I can.

The Colossus 2nd from the left is the bat I've been netting with this winter and used for the last couple of games of last season.  I've bought a few other bats and used them in the nets briefly but when I picked the Colossus back up, it made my mind up for me and I don't know why I'd been looking for anything else really.  It flies, the size of the bat seems to give you more confidence at the crease and it really doesn't pick up like the weight it is.

I've pretty much decided that the Colossus will stay, one of the PureBlades will stay, my old trustworthy Nixon will stay and everything else can go.  B3, Blank Bat, Aldred.  All good bats but just won't use them!

Used my Colossus and the first PureBlade I pulled out of the cupboard.  Both measured 109mm top, middle and bottom.

Tut tut, 108 is the legal limit!

Everyone get an ultra wide Kippax ASAP ;)
