I got one few seasons ago. then another and then another.
I has three SPS (2.8, 2.9, 2.10) and its like nothing comes close enough to them.
If I had to get a custom made - it would be thruxton - LOVE the bow and handle shape.

I love Newbery Thruxton bats. The 2-3 I had were absolute beaters.

Think I need to get one more :)

:D The Thruxton 5 Star is my current match bat and I'm seriously tempted to go to a Players or SPS in future.

A lot of people bang on about spine heights but the Thruxton shows it's not all about the spine!

I've had 4 in total but the other two were a very Light players and a very very Heavy players, So I sold them to some teammates.

My match bat for the last 3 years has been a 5 star, It is at its peak right now.

My teammates say that my bat look like a toothpick (no spine and stuff) - but I just cant miss the middle.
its everywhere.
P.S.- got an almost un-used - 4/5 year old Thrux SPS off ebay for 100 pounds shipped to US.
Got the bat and over the moon with it. Quality and performance matches what I have already.

You're right the sweetspot is very generous. SPS for 100 notes is a superb buy. I've just added a new ebay saved search! ;)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Newbery-Thruxton-SPS-Cricket-Bat-Used-VGC-/111028034423?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=oUA8ikgDjr3hR%252BKXBn8enFT1KUo%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

It ended up being 2.8 with one grip. (thats my weight - 2.8-2.9).
its old but I guess not that much use.

Thanks, that looks lovely Jag but no wonder people think it looks like a toothpick...do you play on fairly bouncy pitches?
