Suggestions on the best solution to repair this.

Its a cracking stick (no pun intended), and I know its entirely salvageable. Any suggestions on the best way to proceed with repairing this?

Not 100% sure if it is salvageable, but... I would open up the crack, get some glue in it, clamp it down, then put a wide fibreglass tape around that region. :)

You reckon its a goner? Dont have a clamp -- could cut up strips of bat grip and use that?

Get as much glue in the crack as possible and wrap tightly in parcel tape or masking tape.  either that or use bits of cut up grip to clamp it.

Personally i think it needs a clamp for the pressure. Also water some PVA glue down a little, that should guarantee it gets down to the bottom of the crack.

Thanks Ryan. I was wondering whether watering down some pva would do the trip although I did also question whether that would compromise its adhesive strength..?

If you can get some clamps with the plastic heads that have a bit of movement in them, they might do the job.  A bit of masking tape around the areas where tha clamp faces are in contact with the bat wont's go a miss.  Stop you denting the wood to badly then.

Looks like when they've hammered the handle in they've gone a little too far and the handle has caught under the willow abit. Just whip the top couple of mm off the broken bit before you glue it back down and it should help prevent it happening again.

Failing that, a little brass screw will work  ;)
