Sure, glue and clamps will do the job.. after that some bat tape or twine....

Am I the only one who is thinking super glue and twine are the last things to use for this?? (Not intended to be disrespectful)

He didn't mention superglue.

I've repaired plenty of splits of this nature without dowelling, which isn't always necessary.

Can a thread like this be made permanent at top of the topic?

We all break bats from time to time would be good to have 1 thread to see breaks and post our own?

Then forum sponsors could maybe offer repair prices, and other members could suggest repair jobs.

Sorry to see your broken bat, that horrible feeling when you hear/feel it go then look down to see the damage....

From this thread it's obvious I can't read and I'm a bit thick then! Haha

I think this is a good idea. It would allow any repair jobs to be put into one place so other forum member can understand if the job is worth doing.

Personally, I would glue it, dowel it (fairly low down the blade), then apply pigskin to hold it together. I have done heaps very similar :)

Each to their own I suppose :) On the plus side, it does a great job at preventing the cracks from re-opening!

How would one put a dowel in a bat? opening the crack completely or drilling from one edge to the other?

Once the glued crack is dry, drill through and glue in a dowel :)
