Stretton Fox Leg System / Official Forum Page
« on: April 24, 2013, 09:54:05 PM »

OK this is where we are getting really interesting !

Stretton Fox is developing into new products for the 2014 season, 2013 is about the thigh pads and additional body "Armour" (thanks AllOutCricket for the phrase !) And this will always be my absolute core focus as it is so critical to a batters safety, confidence, and health !!

But, once more established with reputation the ambition is to apply further technologies we have into other areas of Cricket, the next venture is into 2 items, a special arm guard which is being developed and tested at the moment with Jigar Naik of Leicestershire CCC, and the Leg System.

I will go into more detail of the intentions of this with time but would love to get initial thoughts on what people think, but to start the ball rolling this is a completely different way of looking at leg protection and I can't wait to tell you all more !!

So heres the link....

Stretton Fox Cricket / Leg System Testing at City Cricket Academy in Leicester

Big thanks to Leicester City Cricket Academy, Don, Sonia and all the team for their continual support !!

And thanks again to everyone here for their support, it really is the best help I could wish for.

If it means smaller and lighter leg protection then it can only be a good thing. Good to see you putting faith in your prototypes!

Good job the person on the machine wasn't a practical joker, I know quite a few people that would have sent a bouncer down. Also I'd imagine catching one on the toe instead of the pad would have stung. I'd like to see a stretton fox batting sock or toe protector as spikes just don't seem to have this anymore.

There's three at my club that would love the toe protector, that's why I got some Asics Gully 2s as they have a fairly strong toe.

Having been on the receiving end of a 70mph inswinging Yorker that swung too far and ended up on my big toe which broke it, I would agree that a toe protector would be something to develop! But I wouldn't be willing to be the test dummy on that, as I plan to keep my toes intact for the season if possible  ;)

Toe/Upper Boot Protection - that's what we need from Stretton Fox....

Toes are on the list ! I think all my left foot toes have been broken at some point playing ! probably a cap which slides in to any shoe would be best ! these already exist in the safety footwear industry for people operating heavy machinery, they now use composites instead of steel so its lighter as well. Pleased you like the video !!
