Still got my dads Powerspot in the garage - it was bought early 80's with the red spot and then it was sent back to GN themselves for a refurb and came back with the latest stickers on it. I'll have to dig it out and get some pics up - needs some work on it which the forum might be able to help with, at least to decide if its had it or can be brought back into service again!!

Athers is part of the working group that has been commissioned by the MCC (in all its wisdom) to look at the increasing size (edge in particular) to consider if they should be restricted.

We know on here that this is going to be a difficult thing to make recommendations.
I hope he visited the other batmaker not too far from Robertsbridge who knows a bit about bats...

There's a Powerspot in our "bat bin" at the club along with a Scoop and another GN. It's a nice shape

Yes, looks like the Powerspot and Kookaburra Bubble will be going head to head next year in the retro revival stakes! Wonder who'll come out on top?! Can the 90s really be considered retro though? Fair enough with the Dynadrive and Scoop dating right back to the 70s, but not sure bats of the 90s really warrant the term "retro" - or should this be the subject of another thread?

Don't forget the Purist Paul. Even less retro in my book, GM are still selling a few of them via clearance!

The clearance stuff was mostly low grade junior or LH stuff if I remember guys but I will check tomorrow.

To be fair though, the Powerspot is an early eighties bat, indeed 1983 so around the same time as the scoop and initially, before the twin scoop that led to the Dynadrive... Anything less than 20 at it's initial introduction is not yet retro!

The thing that separates GN (and slaz) is they keep the original image of their retro bats, or at least a very recognisable modern twist.

The pics of the bubble and the purist appear to make the bats just another part of the existing range, the bubble is almost unrecognisable from the ricochet. And the purist could be any GM model, you need to read the sticker to identify it.
