Bugger the price tag for the Legend tho...give me a forum sponsor bat any day over that!

It is steep granted, but I've had mine for 5 seasons and it still goes strong. If I'm paying $800 for a top range bat and it lasts me 5 seasons, I think that's not bad investment. I know of plenty of blokes who buy bats online from India for about AU$250 and they only get a season, maybe two out of them. In the end they spend just as much, if not more, than what I would over that time frame.

I've gotten my last two bats from the forum at $300 AUD each. Both made by one of the best makers going around. Rivals and beats any Legend you would get for $800 IMO.

wat bats are your mates buying and what are they doing with them?   :)

one can like a Legend but hard to justify with maths  - Top grade BAS (bow 20 20) or SS (SS KP Red, SS Matrix) costs in 300-350 AU range - at par with a LEGEND. 2 of those vs 1 Legend.

SS Heritage, BAS KingHitter/Commander costs less than $200 AU each even on ebay AU - 4 of those vs 1 LEGEND?

every bat is different  - but u cant think that GN could make their $800 sticks that magical?

As I said, if you want a specific bat thats all well and good - each to their own

They've been hitting up a site called Online Stockist and getting SS/SF/unbranded bats, all considered Grade 1/Players willow. They are a fraction of the price of the Legend, but none of them that I've picked up I've ever thought "I really should've bought 2/3 of these instead of a Legend". I actually like the profiling of the Legend, no concaving at all, not the biggest edges but at the end of the day that doesn't make a bat to me. As I said, it's not as if I'm buying one every season, I've got one which has lasted me five seasons thus far and still performs very well indeed. If I get great performance out of a bat for 5 years, know it's absolute quality, know it's Australian made (at the GN factory in Melbourne), I'm happy to pay the price. I'm sure there are others who feel the same, and I've never felt 100% comfortable buying over the internet, I'd prefer to go into the shop and pick the bats up myself than run the risk of getting something that is too bottom-heavy or whatever...

Laura Marsh is using a lovely looking powerspot in the womens ashes game at the moment.

I am not sure if her "#digin trophy" award winning 30* from 209 balls is really a great advert for the "Power" in powerspot...!!

That looks more like a love heart than a Powerspot... ;)

A fair bit of concaving on that one then?

You aren't allowed to have logos at the arch part of the pads. Not sure why! Seems like Laura's set of pads have the GN logo on them too!

Maybe it doesn't apply in the women's game? Maybe it has something to do with this game not being televised really

Yeah, that's probably why!

That Powerspot does seem to have a LOT of concaving...
