Played on one game the other week, which was on a hill, which is a rugby pitch. There is no screen.

Oh wait one side has a fence which goes around the rugby 1st team pitch which is painted white......

Bedminster 3's play behind the school opposite. Ashton Court I think it is, horrible place. I've not played Tetbury. Had an interesting game this weekend against the Bohemians in Filton on an awful, cracked and dusty track that had the most uneven bounce you have ever seen. Still managed to bat 35 overs though.

Have played Bohemians at Mile Straight this year too. The pitch was low but not uneven. Plenty of clubs will have been struggling to turn out decent tracks with the recent dry weather. Ashton Court is horrendous though as is Vassals Park in Fishponds. Turned up there last year for oppo skipper to ask which track we wanted to play on, no changing rooms or running water on the hottest day of the year either

cant be worse than Stanley surely?

Luckily I've never had the displeasure of playing at Stanley! Ferrybridge's new pitch is awful too, not that they'll be finding their way up the divisions anytime soon. I put my key in one of the craters, I mean cracks, and it vanished! Nice facilities mind...

Pak Shaheen in the Warwickshire League, the outfield is ropey at best, and the wicket is a shocker, or it was on Saturday anyway. The first ball of our innings was a length ball that cleared the openers head by a foot! One ball would fly, and the next one smack you on the ankle, truly shocking!

Ha. Ward end unity is similar. And walsall phoenix / ymf. Been pelted with stones whilst fielding at all of these. Not in my top ten holiday destinations.  Saying that places like standard, aston unity etc still have some appeal so not all bad this season.

Wilmington looks a little green. Nice short boundary mind!

It was exceptionally green, grass on the wicket was the same length as the outfield. Saying that the wicket didn't play too badly.

That's a little bit ridiculous, well it looks that way in the pictures anyway. Where abouts in the country is it?

A green deck at club level can often be misleading. Sometimes it's just a case of it not getting enough cutting rather than the wicket itself being a bad track. We played on a raging green top 3 weeks ago and knocked off 204 in 39 overs for 2 down. It was possibly the flattest deck of the season. Opposite can be true of a light coloured deck:-

Everybody thought this looked the best deck of the season we had seen at our ground. In fact the overnight rain had turned it into a slow turgid deck where timing the ball was nearly impossible, 111ao played 112-7. I've played on many grounds where the straw coloured decks perform like absolute dogs.

Played at one of my least favourite ground yesterday - Radwinter (in Essex). It's a reacreational ground (i.e a field next to a park which has a football pitch on part of it). The clubhouse is a shed, not enough room for even half the team in the dressing room. Always get a rubbish tea. Pitch had stud marks on it and was popping balls up like a good'un. Outfield is nice and long, with the odd unpredictable bounce. We lost.

Agreed, this is the deck at a team in my Saturday league. It has gained a rep as a road, and certainly looks like one. This was it before the game a few weeks ago, it was the first time i've played on it for a number of years. It played like my back garden, two paced, inconsistent bounce and i reckon i could have turned one square on it too, our openers were bowling off cutters that were pitching outside off and missing leg. Awful!

Indeed it was, also forgot to add the toilet is in its own spider infested building at the other end of the field. Really is nice.
