each to their own I suppose.

+1 how many people get a completely chanceless ton?
There's more than likely going to be one early on that you get through the slips, or hit in the air through gaps

Is very rare to see a chanceless half century/century.

which is what makes those innings special innings and worthy of praise.

I do apologise, would you like me to bow down and kiss your feet on your chanceless tons?

I don't know, people often forget that luck is part of cricket too, you get good luck and bad luck. Personally, I would prefer to score the scrappy ton than a flawless 70, not because it's a personal milestone, but those 30 runs are quite often the difference between winning and losing. :-[

I think a lot of it has to do with the pressure of the catch as well. When all the players know each other like in our league you know who the big hitters are etc. When they hit it in the air for a catch the person under it feels way more pressure to take it than if it was just another batsman. There are a couple of big hitters in my team who I can guarantee that during this season will get dropped double figure times as every year. Its not just coincidence in my opinion that the rest of us might not get to double figures drops betwen us all.

A few years ago I dropped 4 in one game. Didnt play cricket for 4years after that.

First season back didnt drop a thing.

Came back to play second season back and dropped 3 in one game, didnt get any better until about half way through the season.

So far this year, not even had a sniff.
