Salix. had it about 16 years, not entirely sure what model it is though. Sent it for a refurb after about 4 years and it came back with different stickers on it, they say 'Royal SR3'. Cost me £119 from Romida, not the thickest willow you will see, but christ it went like the clappers. About 6 weeks ago a lad at our club turned up with a Hawk Xbow that he had borrowed from a mate in the army, had a knock up with it and it was as good if not better than my old Salix.

Just the original Robin Smith 175 mate:

http://www.cricketbats.com/cricket-bats/1262/Chase/Chase-175

Got it new out of Lords 18 months back, got chatting to the guy in the Lords shop (I live near there) as I couldn't find anything I liked, he said they had a storeroom out the back....it's huge. Let me nose around an try some bats, dug under a pile of bats and found a 2.10 short handle, picked it up, felt amazing. I knew it was a few years old but was brand new and in Lords' stockroom where it has a perfect temperature so figured it'd be fine. Looked at the price and it was labelled up wrong as junior bat, anywhere else I'd have pointed out the error but it's Lords and they charge over the odds for everything else so figured I'd wait until the guy at the counter spotted the error. He didn't. £100 and out of the door....

10 straight grains, grade 1 willow....it's a beauty.

My Laver & Wood Private Bin shaped in a Classic/Bradman profile. I can't seem to miss the middle of this bat and it's gone like a gun from day 1.

Salix falx performance from PDC. Absolute gun for such a small bat, perfectly balanced, middle in the perfect place. Only issue: cracked shoulder  :(. The gm octane I bought recently is up there though.

My H4L Hattori 5* (Should have been LE, cheers Matt) with the MH Puma stickers. Goes like (No Swearing Please) off a shovel. My perfect bat really, weight, profile, and it's all middle.

Dave calls it the Bat of Bats haha, I'll never sell it though

It is a great bat that one mate

For me it my b3 crown

It has surpassed even my old private bin I have mounted and kept the b3 is simply great it has changed the way I think about bats and shapes as it a shape I wouldn't normally go for but goes to show if you used something enough times it becomes the normal.

This is a really tough question. Had a Stac black prince which just flew and everyone who used it went and bought one which says a lot I guess. It was a traditional shape bat. My Newbery Uzi went like a rocket, but it would have to be my current bat - Salix pod. So so light pick up and the ball just seems to fly off without any effort. I sometimes hit the ball and can't believe its gone like a rocket to the boundary.

My current TK 'Pro' (if there is such a thing!) which I got from Pete a few months back. He paid mega money for it direct from TK and apparently it was from a batch for a current international player. 2.9, no concaving, 40+mm edges, bigger than bats 3/4 ounces heavier. Feels deliciously soft! Probably won't last too long in comparison to most bats and I'm already saving to be able to afford to replace it! The face looks like crazy paving........I reckon it's at it's peak currently.

Any photos of the said bat? Sounds like a good 'un!

My current bat is easily my best bat. It's a Newbery GT 5 star bought off Soulman and was a case of love at first net.

For me it was a toss up between a GN dynadrive with a SS handle and a Newbery Mjolnir picked up from the chalet at Hove

That bat is a beautiful bat, looks massive for a 2.9! Has the Hattori shape changed now? I don't remember mine looking quite that good profile wise!

The best bat I've owned has to be my Helios, but it sure has had some competition! I've had a 'TK Pro' which was possibly one of the closest in terms of performance, but even that wasn't as good! :-[
