The shaping is another part of it obviously but the pressing and handling is the first step really of the bat performing. Some may disagree but that's my view

Firstly I have been following your posts for quite some time, can i just say it's always a pleasure reading your posts, I just love the way you take a lot of pride in what you do.
As regards handles, I have seen a few different types being used. Cork sprung, rubber sprung and a mixture of the two.
Some with two springs others with three. There are also differences in weight between the types.
Which type do you use in your bats and why. I'd be grateful if you could shed some light on the matter. Maybe Soulman could elaborate on AKs thoughts on the matter too.
