Comparing players at the start of their careers, without taking into account so many variables, cannot be conclusive. Different opponents, home or away, FC experience, etc. Can have a massive impact to name a few.

some take to test cricket easily, as pujara has. Others grow into it, as many if the greats have. Either way, both will score in excess of 8000 runs, in my opinion. I'm sure we all agree that doesn't happen by accident, it takes a great deal of application.

Agree with this great post mate

Nearly two test down.

Is root winning so far? Plenty of time for pujara to turn it round though.

Was meant to come down today as 3 of my bats are there. But they had closed my road to resurface the dam thing! Grrr.

Anyone would have pujara in there side, I just think root is doing a great job for England at mo.

Pujara will be a littled p!ssed so far.

He's averaging 41 in the series. He's got past 20 everytime yet hasn't got 100.

In normally circumstances he'd probably have got 4 x 100.

I sense he's due a big 150-250 before this series is done.

He'll need to get a shufty on then after two more failures at Old Trafford (where Root excelled again).

Seems like ALL of the Indian side are arguing with Root any time he gets within fifteen feet of them.  Lad might look like a choirboy, but there is summat about him rubs people up the wrong way...

It's not just this series where Pujara has flopped.

He was utterly shocking in New Zealand as well.

12 innings in NZ and ENG, only 1 fifty.

Dravid and Ganguly both failed the first time around, were dropped and then came back stronger. I am more concerned about Kohli, looked like the next bright light and definitely talented but he seems to be falling into Rohit Sharma category.
