Australia vs England - 2nd ODI 17-1-14
« on: January 17, 2014, 01:38:24 AM »

Media suggest Carberry in for Root.  Johnson in, Marsh in for Watson.

Clearly England arent going to make the changes many on here have suggested ought to be made........but I would love to see that if england get off to a safe start (0/25 of 10 overs  :D ) do something interesting and send Butler in

Doubt England will ever change the batting order.
Another defensive coach.

270 is no longer good enough in odi's. But England haven't got that yet. Too 4 continue to bat too slow

Hope the Aussies win the toss and bat. Looks like a flat pitch, 350+ might be on the cards with this bowling line up

This is a 300+ wicket. Any less will be below par.

Think both teams particularly England have got the team selection wrong by not picking a front line spinner.  Treadwell should have been playing

Root fails again and wastes a review. Does he ever think he's out
Could have been out twice before that

Balance doing what he did last match. Struggling to rotate strike against part time spin and putting pressure on bell.
And balance gets out having a big mow.
Village stuff against part timers

Think Morgan needs to step up next game and come in at 4

Can add 30-40 to that given the new rules and a flat wicket.

Big pitch and a slow outfield but should be easy 300 as long as you don't give your wicket away!

Think bell just did that.
300 looks a long shot now

I wouldn't have a clue who else England have up their sleeve back home but I am sure there are some really good batsman who must be asking why they are being over looked for Root.
Seems like England are giving Cook and Root the opportunity to get themselves back into form and to hell with the team. I know Cook and Root don't want to withdraw themselves and want to try and show they have the goods but enough is enough. Management step up and send them home!

I'm beyond frustrated and I'm a Kiwi, you Poms must be pulling your hair out.

Was Root beaten for pace or just misjudged the ball coming in? It seemed like he was really really late playing the ball. Just saw the replays.
