I change mid innings,

Has it worked have you scored more runs doing this ????

I will always believe in sticking to one bat for timing and stuff..

Due to using clubs, I tend to get a little tired in long innings. So have a similar bat that is a few oz lighter, and switch to that when my arms start to get lazy.
Sometimes it works, other items it fails spectacularly. I switched to my mongoose on 111 once and got out the next ball. Felt a mug! Team and opposition blamed the goose. I believe I merely played a (No Swearing Please) shot.

So, I do use match and net kit. Questions I have are:

How long should a top end bat last in terms of balls faced?

This is the main reason I have a net bat, I'd like to hear how many balls the avg bat should/will face before losing its performance (avg of course as each willow is different)

My B3 Crown mate still going lasted 28 games 1250 runs including over 30 hours machine practice and 30 hours knocking in .

Performance is starting to go a tad i have to be honest but is still better than alot of other bats.

I have spare bats which knock up including the very first for that company but it is next in line..

It's a cracker! 30 hours of knocking in though? You need to get a life!

Just wanted to know how many folk only have one bat in their bag for this season (don't think there will be to many), I always used to have 2 but am down to one now and cant help feeling a little naked  ???

Just in case anybody with a nice big 2.8lb bat going cheapish get intouch..
If you want a 2.10lb bat going cheapish you can have a look at nets tomorrow mate ;-)

Got a nice pingy CA 8000 which will be my number 1 but as its a CA it might not last the season.

Generally I've been one bat at a time, but my current bat (GN Quantum LE) has a bit of damage so I've got a new E41 for the new season, getting the old one repaired as well so for the first time I'll have 2.

Is the theory of different bats for different circumstances considered old hat now?

I know we had pro's that would call for "the dog" (slogging bat) towards the end of an innings.

Do all you guys have different bats for nets and for matches? If yes, how do you all ensure that you are always adjusted to the match bat?

I use only 1 bat - either for nets or for matches. Its another story that I only play over weekends.
