Played in the Home Counties Prem, Surrey Championship, Southern Electric Premier and West of England Prem (All in 10 years!).

Now back in TVCL (where I started) - absolutely love it! Home is where the heart is and cricket is so much enjoyable when it is somewhere you want to be. Not always about the level.

I think it is hard to judge on standards as all leagues will vary in quality.

I play for Chobham 1's in the Surrey Fullers 2nd Division.

RoCo I think two of my mates from SA play for the same club might be in the 2nds or 3rds.

I have played for Portchester 1s in Hampshire county division 1 and the 2nds in regional 2. This season I guess it will be in the 2nds as we have a couple good youngsters coming through.  But you never know.

Played at my (short lived) peak in TVL Western Feeder/TVL Div1. Had the novelty of playing as a specialist batsman one season and a specialist bowler the next! Good 15 years ago now. For the most part been slumming it in Marlow 2s in TVL 3/4, Sussex Invitation 2nd XI Div1, Wetherby 2-6 in various guises and now Cotswold Hills League Div3.

Play for Kilve 1st XI in Div 2 of the Shrubbery Somerset League. We've been promoted 4 years on the trot, winning the league twice out those, so we're looking forward to seeing what this year brings :-)

Following from procricket.

Middlesex league, mainly the 3's and Sunday 1sts. Getting on a bit and didn't like all the cut throat attitude of a lot of the teams.
Now, The Honorable Artillery Company, HAC, in the City. We play a varied level from jazz teams through to a gun MCC and Royal Artillery side. It's a privilege playing there.

Getting on a bit, 43 this year and creaking so keep it light but competitive.

Kilve used to have a great side back in the mid 90's so it good to see you climbing back up the divisions. I remember playing against Dave Cobb and Neil Cobbon and they always had a good overseas player. Ryan Fury was one. Can be a bit bleak down there on a bad day but lovely on a sunny day. Do you know I can remember being there in 1979 (watching my Dad) and they had the Arsenal Man U cup final on in the pavilion on a little black and white TV.

Say hello to Dave next time you see him if he is still involved with the Club. An absolute Legend of the old Somerset league.

Thanks Kieron. I will pass on your wishes to Dave, he came to watch quite a few games last year and if his knee's weren't so knackered from bowling 23 overs a week and batting 3 I'm sure he'd still be playing and scoring runs for fun. Played with him a bit and you can tell he's different gravy - so much time to play shots and the most accurate bowler I've seen.

We've had a few good overseas. Do you remember Ian Wheatley?

You're right about the weather, on a good day it's stunning, but on a cold/overcast it can be a bit chilly ;-)

After reading kit lists and seeing PB's in some people sigs, I was just wondering to what standard do people play at on here. I get the distinct impression everyone plays substantially better cricket than I do?

I currently play in the Cambs Cricket Assoc Jnr 1, but have played to Snr 1 standard with my previous team which sadly folded after a 60 consecutive year presence in the CCA leagues! (In my area there is the East Anglian prem, Tucker Leagues 1/2, Snr 1,2,3, Jnr 1,2,3,4,5)

Be interested to know where people ply their trade?

I'd say I probably play at a similar standard to you. I play Norfolk Cricket League div 1 and in Norfolk it goes EAPL followed by the Norfolk Cricket Alliance which has a premier division and then 6 further divisions and then the Norfolk Cricket league with a another 8 divisions. Although we(along with most of the teams in NCL div 1) are probably strong enough to play NCA 4/5 level but we lack the facilities to enter the NCA.

Played for Bronze CC pretty much my whole cricketing life in the WARCL (Warwickshire Cricket League) playing in the first team the last 5/6 seasons or so but while I was at Uni I played for Cheltenham for a couple is seasons in the WEPL in the 2's. I probably could push myself and play at a higher standard but would find it quite difficult to leave Bronze as I've been going down there ever since I was born.
