Cordy - i don't think i ever kept to him actually, i didn't keep much when i was out there. kept to David Harrison once last season though, was on a right pudding of a deck and it carried to my ankles!

The person who made me sh*t my pants most tho was my cousin - current county pro. he's 6'4 and bowls about 81mph, so when he drops a bumper in you know it's gonna hit you in the bonce

Nothing like a bit of friendly family rivalry! Never faced anyone of that kind of pace at my lowly level and quite happy for that to continue  Would be interesting to keep to it though I think

Agreed, he was sharp, too sharp for our league then. Remember facing Mo Akram and he was lively on our deck 1st game of the season.

This is going to sound very strange but Luke Wright.

Not only did he consistently bowl 85mph in his early/mid 20s, he is erratic and SHORT! His bouncers were seriously nasty... If you aren't an international batsman anyway!

A close second would be Charl Willoughby - who would just aim for your ribs for 5 balls then knock you over with an inswinging yorker!

Played against charl when he was at Basingstoke. First over went wide wide wide wide wide wicket. He wasnt slow either and was bowling banana's.

I'd probably go with Callum Stewart who is low-mid 80's. Just signed for Sommerset and I've been netting with him all winter and once a week currently.

Shoaib Akhtar around 13 years ago.
I guided (nicked!) a few through the slips before he cleaned me up with a slower ball - I was groping at thin air well before it went through my gate.

Charl Willoughby is the reason I started wearing a chest/rib guard.

One day we played them, he wasn't interested in knocking over the stumps. Hit me in the ribs 3 balls out of six, I hit two for four hooking then the final ball he lidded me.

Gavin Tonge (West Indies who DIDN'T know the meaning of Sunday cricket...)
Jon Moss (Ex Australia, Victoria and Derbyshire all-rounder)
Cameron Gannon (Queensland and Brisbane Heat)
Most of the Hampshire bowling attack! (Griffiths, Balcombe, Tomlinson, Wood)
Hamza Riazuddin (Ex-England U19 captain)
Tom Jewell (Surrey 2nd XI Captain)
Vineet Sinha (Ex-Mumbai Indians and was playing Div.4 of the TVCL!!)

No real out and out internationals but when fast bowlers have something to prove... they tend to try a hell of a lot harder!

Its worth pointing out of the above list that Cam Gannon played for Sonning in D4 as well!

Few others  spring to mind - Jake Ball (now at Nottinghamshire) played for Wokingham and made the tailenders hop around (you could put this in the something to prove category - his first spell took a beating and he took it out on the less able).  Going back about eleven years Stoke Green had a Pakistani lad who'd played a few tests who was rapid, and a couple of years earlier still Danny Morrison scared people witless playing for Harefield.
