I wish I could have, just once in my life, done fielding practice...

They work really well the ones I make. They are a proper bat in essence. The local coaches that I work with just buy them off me when I have them available. I can't get on with these foam bats and these are versatile as you can use the for nicking practice you can use just the face for that or I vary it and nick off using the edge of the bat it's better. I make them with a slightly longer handle to give you some levers for hitting one handed.

There was a pro in one of the magazines saying one of the things he looked for was straight grains in the shoulder!

Yes well that would signify that the grains are running true up the blade if they are straight through the toe. But to be fair I have never seen many that when the handle is fitted the grain doesn't look as though it's not straight through the shoulder basically I would say because it's the narrowest part of the blade so therefore the grain hasn't got much room to appear to deviate from the straight. I would say that the cleft wasn't that great to start with if the grain runs at a severe angle in the shoulders. Does that make sense.

The one on the floor is the new shape velocity. Just a traditional shape

Thanks Paul.  I'll do a review of the G2 Xmas offer bat once we get netting in Feb.  Really tempted by another Alfred bat to keep my other one company! :D

Hi Paul,

Would I be able to be purchase a bat without the stickers on? Just a personal preference I have always had.
