Reading a comment in the thread about CA Bats, and seeing the image below, I find it insteresting that the bat on the right is considered to have "almost no concaving". I'd consider it to be reasonably concaved. The bat on the left it much more concaved.

How do you view it? I would say that the "hardly concaved" CA is still pretty concaved...

The ca is concaved, but not to the extremes of most ca bats, and to say the weights of the. Two bats in the video is similar, you can see the point of Paul's video.

The excel you have showed is rounded/domed, to me it is the opposite of concaved, gone the other way.
 If you was to draw a line from edge to spine, thee cel would be above it.

After watching the video I agree with Paul, no concaving. Such a prominent spine gives the impression there is concaving.

I judged it from the "meat" of the bat and thought that the one on the right had what I would consider to be minimal concaving (2mm or less). So that's why I said almost no concaving.

The one of the left is very concaved (8mm +).

I wouldn't call the Powerspot convexed. The spine has been slightly rounded to give that impression. But it is not a true convex like the Tour.

I wouldn't call the Powerspot convexed. The spine has been slightly rounded to give that impression. But it is not a true convex like the Tour.

To me it is, the tour is one convex shape, the powerspot, is twoconvex shapes, coming to a slight point in the middle.

a lot of concaving for me is where the back of the bat goes down from the edge and up to the spine, like the blurred picture. A bat that goes up directly from the edge or across and then up to the spine but is scooped out is slightly concaved.

The bat is my hitting zone sometimes! Like a bit of wood for the shots I don't middle. You still get wood in the hitting zone with a non concaved bat, but it spreads the middle out further towards the edges surely?

Bit isn't that the idea of big edges? That if you hit the ball well off centre, the size of the edge means it'll still go, as there still meat behind it?


I've got concaved, non concaved and convexed bats, to be honest I've never had issue with any of them feeling as if the sweet spot isn't wide enough.

I just have issues with my timing.

Personally I think the KG above is a little too much by the CA on the right in the top pic looks a great shape.

At the end of the day, this goes back to the confidence the bat gives you...
