he doesnt say he wants a high spine, just as high as possible .... and like you say a high spine doesnt seem possible based on the other requests.

I think given this is the one variable that he has not stated that he must have exact then this is where the batmaker has leeway to fit it in under 2.10.

my thoughts are it would be like a newberry tour to meet the 42mm edges and 2.10 weight.

would you use a bat like this? there is nothing to say it will perform any better than any other bat.

what does soft to medium pressing mean?

I appreciate it is your money to spend how you want and to try to get a bat like this, but frankly you have just as much chance scoring a hundred with one of Aldred's glorious butterfly bats.

p.s. sorry for being grumpy - you should want to dream of a bat like this - we all do really!!
It is okay Buzz, you are free to express your opinion. Soft to medium pressing mean not pressed hard, probably i used wrong words . If it will not play well then it will rest in my drawing room showcase where plenty are already resting. :)

What does "strong" oval handle mean?
I change it to thick oval handle.

for me a 50mm spine isnt high, particularly with the massive edges you would just have a bat with all edge and no spine. 50mm would be a high spine with 20-25mm edges. 42mm edges with a 65-70mm spine i would say would be the minimum to be high. with no concaving thats pretty much impossible unless you over dry a cleft or find a one in a million cleft. i think there needs to be some form of compromising with this.
Spine height could be compromised but not edges, that's why i mentioned spine as high as possible.

I have a cleft in at the moment that is currently 3.8oz in rae form which is light. But doesn't have 12 dead straight grains, I don't know if that's of any interest.

shoab68 since you are willing to pay that kind of money there is no harm in asking for what you want and see whats on offer...

I would also like to recommend getting in touch with Matt at H4L, Matt gets oversized clefts and what you are looking for could be accomplished using a light/low density oversized cleft...worth a shot in my opinion...

I agree with Tush.
I've had two Tempo's from Matt @H4L and they seem to be the profile you have described, less the thick edges.

Speak to Matt.

Isn't the Affinity Persona made to measure from a over-sized cleft? Just give Marcus a call.

As with any of the pod-shavers on here, I'm sure they'd love to rise to the challenge. I don't think you'd be disappointment with any tbh.

Hello.

I have some suitable bats, many either have fewer grains than you are looking for, or are slightly heavier, or are not quite the right middle position etc. I have a beautiful Slazenger V12 from the original run of 200 that matches everything really, aside from having slightly more modest edges, and 8/9 grains. Same with a Bubble Players i have, this one has suitable edges, and dead straight grains, but only 8 of them. Some of these 4 below don't match everything, but come close to your spec though:

All 4 weigh 2'10

The Purist is a 42/43mm edge. Argon is 41mm. The two TON bats are 40mm. Argon and the TONs have thinner handles. TONs are oval, Argon is semi-oval. The Purist has a thick semi oval. Maybe the Purist has a middle a touch higher than you are looking at, but it has offset edges to provide a longer middle.

The Purist and Argon are £399. The TON bats are £285. Free delivery, and in the case of the TON bats, free knocking in.

You may be able to get exactly what you want from a custom made bat, and i am sure there are some forum sponsors out there who will be very well placed to help, as well as other companies of course. But clefts/bats like that come along only so often. I've had 3 or 4 pass through my hands since we opened in 2011. Please send me a pm if anything i have tickles your fancy.
