Have got to agree with Dave on this one. Having seen the Trott in the flesh I couldn't believe the size of the bat to what it actually weighed, I didn't believe it was less than 2.11 even though the pick up was so well balanced. Looking down at the bat has to install some sort of confidence that whenever you connect with the ball it will go. The bat feels great in the hands and the handle is a work of art too. I have bugged Dave for 6 months about buying it off him but since it's been refurbished I haven't got a cat in hells chance.

Dave's Trott B3 is definitely the Lionel Messi of bats I've seen and I would be very surprised if I get a bat of that quality pass through my hands.

If I had the money and the ability I wouldn't hesitate in shelling out for one identical shape to that.

Shoab68 - if you are serious about taking the plunge of a B3, I'm sure Dave will sort you out something really special, B3 is like his second home!

Just as a matter of interest, I've been told these clefts don't last as long. Is there any truth in that?

Well mine had 1000 runs through my crown and as shown in this thread I think it look and plays as well as ever after a mot mate.  Look in the other thread it has a few surface cracks especially around the middle and had a couple of downing joints near the toe after I tried to wallop a few Yorkers mate

Chris my other one has had 300 through it

Quick update on this,

Finally decided to go with B3 and placed the order, they are making this bat using a crown cleft. Thanks for all the offers and advice.

I would like to thank Dave (procricket) for all the guidance and support. Will upload pics with review once it is ready.

Having seen the bat in the flesh it's a beauty - I would've been tempted myself to splash the cash on it!

Shoab - if it ever becomes available let Dave know to tell me - probably too good for my use!
