All team could keep atleast 5 players from last years squad. Rcb chose to keep Chris gayle. So he doesn't enter the auction, he stays with rcb.

Simon jones, jade dernbach unsold!

Random New Zealander Matt Henry bought by csk after coach Ian Fleming had word in the franchise boss ears.

I'm talking to myself. But incase people was interested

The IPL will send a list of unsold players from today with the serial numbers to the franchises and the franchises will have to pick the players they want included in the auction. There will be a similar process for the uncapped players, so that we need not go through endless unsolds.by George Binoy 11:14 AM

So should be a better auction tomorrow, hopefully likes of hales and bell can get in fro tomorrow and receive a few cheeky bids. Now the franchisers have chanc to look at players needs vs money etc.

No Dernbach, thought England's t20 specialist would be selected. Who wouldn't want a bowler going at 12rpo+

Shane Warne did that in when he was coach/captain. Bought his mates at a high price. I'm sure they gave him a cut

Could make a decent team with the players left.
Taylor
Samules
Jayawardena
D Hussey
Bell
Kieswetter
Botha
Philander
Cummings
Bollinger
M Karthik

How did Rikki Clarke end up in this auction? did he seriously think he would be bought (140k)

Philander might be worth a punt if this IPL is played in SA

Who is Matt Henry?  Is he related to Justin Green?  I can't believe Ross Taylor gets passed up but a nobody gets a deal... this whole IPL auction thing is so strange.

I think any player can nominate themselves and then set their own reserve.  This whole two day thing is just so drawn out!  It is possible that the auction is more interesting than some of the cricket ha ha

RP Singh got passed up as well.

Matt Henry is a very sharp fast bowler.

Recently made his ODI debut against India and was all over them.

Dhoni gave him a lot of praise...and hey presto he's now a CSK player!

You can enter yourself yes. But the auction is set as a long list. I.e everyone who puts there name forward.

This is created into a shortlist by the organisers(this is where I'd get removed from auction)

This is then split into capped players today
Uncapped players(tomorrow)

Uncapped players are joined by non sold capped players, but only enter auction if a franchise has said they may bid on them(this is where's I'd Definately get removed if snuck through first stage)

Rikki Clarke and simon jones both managed to make it to the shortlist, let's see if they make it back in tomorrow?(doubt it)

I hope hales gets a chance, he's better than some of what's been bought so far, plus I think bell would make a decent no.5/6 for someone.

Rahul Dravid put it correctly - "Surprised with Ross Taylor not being picked up. But when teams are making decisions real-time during auction, would like to sort out their top 4-5 batsmen. So, players coming in later in the order get missed out." Which I guess what happened to Taylor.

D Hussey must be in this category as well.

He has pedigree in the IPL so it seems strange he got passed up (his BBL was a bit average though).
