I'm impressed that he switches well between the formats!
From an ultra destructive T20, he is proving to be a quality test batsman and seems to be able to show good patience!

Very nice profile of bat, but I suspect he could use a cheap Kashmir bat and still at better than all of us!
I bet Kholi is gutted to have dropped him when he was on 9 runs! 154 runs later Kholi must surely have his blood boiling!
Been dropped 3 times...

Shows how dreadful the Indian fielder are.

I won't criticise the Indian fielding as England haven't fielded ( or caught) well during the Ashes, and even for longer!
But to be fair, most batsmen get dropped on their way to a ton!
I thought he got dropped by Kholi on 9 and Shama on 36? It didn't show a third drop?

Dhawan dropped him in the 140s.

Hard chance, but be taken at Test level.

I wouldn't call that a true chance! 2-3 inches nearer and it would have been.
Id call that a half chance though.
But that is not an issue! He has batted well (as he did when he got his 200+ not long ago!) and is looking good!

I find some people's attitude strange! When Stokes got that ton, most people just well done and well batted fella!
But one or two said, "he only got the ton cos the bowlers did this, or that, or the other!"
That attitude is not cricket like and stinks of either arrogance or bitterness!
We know BMc is not the best bat in the Test format but surely you're humble enough to realise he has batted well with his 225 and his current innings?

I'm not bitter towards McCullum.

I'm just pointing out his best performances are against the workman like Indian attack.

Yes he played well, but Stokes' ton was against a world class attack, so whether the match was dead or not it was a top effort. He was a rookie to boot, well second cap, but still a baby to Test cricket.

McCullum needs to get these kind of scores again South Africa, might be easier now Mitch has humbled us..., Australia or England. These are proper Test attacks and innings against those side enhance a players standing within the game IMO.

Yes - all good points.
I realise that India don't have the best bowling attack but they are reasonable.
And to concentrate for this long is admirable.
It does look as though his form is good currently so a shame they are not playing a top class bowling attack as it would be a challenge!
If playing against England he'd do well anyway, as no matter how well we bowl, we'd drop him several times so he'd have a few lives!  ;)

If McCullum only played against Bangladesh and India he'd be a world beater.

Incredibly overrated. Feasts on the lesser bowling attacks.

About as overrated as the SA team at the moment…

Did you ever see his T20 100 Vs Australia? Overrated pfffft! Match winner who will fail at times but is amazing when he is on song.

I saw 2 springs in the handle in a cricinfo pic yesterday. I thought all Laver handle have 3. Any other handles with 2 springs besides SCAT?

CricHQ is Brendan's own company, with Daniel Vettori I think.

Potzy248, it looks not too dissimilar to some bats you recently received.

His looks a little smaller than those ones.

Having said that, the bat looks to have some concaving. And the way the toe is rounded is quite distinctive and un-SCAT like...

Id say Indian made. I'm sure he gets the pick of the bunch and with so many good bats coming out of India now I don't see why he wouldn't.

On another note. Martin Crowe must be crossing his fingers hoping BMac gets NZ's first ever triple. Long way off but cmon McCullum!

He has every chance of getting to the triple - if you want to set batting records, you won't find too many nicer bowling lineups to face than India, especially now that they have their heads down
