What's the best performing bat you've ever used or owned???
« on: February 26, 2014, 05:21:27 PM »

Evening all,

We're all going on about "pro" bats a lot recently (and I would say 98% of us are not professional cricketers on here) so I thought it would be good to see in your opinion what's the best performing bat you've used or owned... Disregard the looks of the bat. Try answering to the points below....This may for once put to bed the whole grade 1 bats are better etc etc debate.

Best bat I have owned is honestly my HH bat from last year. G1 willow, 11 grains and would have cost £250.

Very close behind was a GN Powerbow 5 star I used in 2010 season that was a rocket but kept braking/cracking held together with so much tape must have weighed about 3lb

Definitely the Warsop Superior of 1997
Grains; Not a clue. Never counted until I joined this forum!
Grade; No idea, probably 1.
Weight, probably around 2lb 8, but no more
Cost; Can't recall, probably around £110.
Profile; Traditional, thin edges.

county caerulex (but a tendulkar ish shape) bought 10-12 years ago
g1
grains 7?
cost £120 ish.
scored about 6 tons with it... lovely.

what was most amusing with this was the note on the invoice from County... it said "enjoy this bat is special" - they were right

it is the one with all the tape...

Brand: shark hammerhead
Grains: 10
Grade: unknown
Price: free to original user. £60 to me

This bats was acquired from a team mate that was once upon a time sponsored by shark. Bat is a little ugly(big stain in playing area), yet the middle Is like no other I've felt, it's quite long and wide despite the huge concaving it has,
It's a shame it's too light for me and I struggle to use(it's also longer than my other sh, so may be lh, but it claims it's sh)

Best bats I have used in my weight

Brand: b3 bespokes
Grains: 24
Grade: 3stripe
Price: £320

This thing is a gun off a bat, it just breaks easily, had two refurbs in 1 season! Thats 700 runs(at a 140 sr)
