The Sapphire from online stockist is £105. How you can charge over double for the same bat is a joke! I feel sorry for people who end up paying double for Indian bats because they are being ripped off!

Great value, what a joke!

Hi Paul. They do exist just very rare!
Here are my 2 match bats for this season. Both bats have 2 grips and scuff sheets, both under 2.11

Tempo under 2.11

The SF stuff Romida stocked last year was woeful!!! These look like different gravy though. I wonder if they have changed manufacturer or just have the top end models made somewhere else now ... not that any of that matters really. They just look far superior to anything I've seen from SF in the past.

If we sold any of these bats for that price we would make a loss - quite a big one too.  Simple.  Either Online Stockist is selling fake SF bats, or he simply gets a better deal than we do.  We are not ripping anyone off.  We are a business with profit margins to consider.  Despite that, I still stand by my words as these particular bats represent great value in my opinion.

We always strive to stock "far superior" bats to any other shop.  This is across our whole range, not just SF...  :)

My friend bought one of these Sapphire bats from Online Stockist and it's a very nice bat, it came with 40+mm edges about 14 grains, although not ruler straight. Not bad for £124 to his door!

I take my hat off to your friend - he has got a very good deal there.

It's a shame you have to pay so much for them, I assume UK based retails get ripped off by the re-sellers of Asian bats, that's why bats like SS/TON have a massive markup in the UK.

The bats Online Stockist are defiantly real! LOL! Like I said, my friend bought one of them, it came with the same carry case you have.

We mainly have 2 options.

Go through a distributor who offers more security in terms of after care, warranty etc. It also usually means we can contact someone in the UK, we can pay someone in the UK and go and handpick the bats if we like.

Or we can take a risk and go direct to the manufacturer. This makes after care a nightmare as the company has no representative in the UK. We normally also have to pay into a foreign bank account which costs us money. Added to this the lack of handpicking ability as well as the lingering spectre of customs fees, bats being drilled for drugs etc when the product arrives in the UK.

My understanding is each SF bat came in 3 grades, 5000, 6000 and Players. This may have changed, but perhaps your friend got a different bat from online stockist to the one Paul is selling?

Is the face of the bat protected by those bat covers?

Not as much as the back, but the front of the bat cover is lightly padded, so yes.

Thanks, just wasn't sure from the videos, I guess the spine of a bat is more likely to pick up a ding than the face directly.

Yep, certainly when shipping bats we've noticed that if any damage is ever caused in transit, it's on the spine, not the face, so that protection on the bat cover makes sense.

Just to add, if a company has an agent in UK, they won't sell direct to you, e.g SS/TON.
Like Jake said, it is better to pay extra to get the bat locally as if something goes wrong to the bat we can send it back to the local supplier to either get replacement or get it repaired. Also we can hand pick the bats

It's understandable you would want to cover your backs when you're a retailer with aftercare because of course, if a bat breaks you can make a big loss if it's bought direct from the manufacturer in India. A risk not worth taking for you guys.

I assume drilling is mostly related to bats coming from Pakistan and not India as the drugs trade coming from the Afghan/Pakistan border is massive.

The SF my friend bought is the same quality and grade of the bat in the video.
