Back to the Drawing Board....
« on: March 19, 2014, 05:16:48 PM »

Weve been working on a bit of marketing lately with the adidas team and came up with the concept of going back to the drawing board to help explain the reasons we designed the helmet as we did. Below are the results of this.

I think they are pretty cool and something different to what you usually see out there.....but then i am rather biased :)

It would be great to hear the forum members thoughts on these and the impression you get when they will hopefully appear on your facebook/twitter feeds (if you follow us or adidas cricket).

Cheers

Tom

Infographics work if they are clear, simple, tell a coherant story, and answer questions along the way.

I really like this one. Very good. Some of the text is hard to read at pace.

Great work.

I'm with Eddie that some of the text is a little bit difficult to read. Will you not get called up for using pics of masuris and GM though? Regardless of the lack of branding on them, their marketing guys will see this and cry foul won't they?

I really like the pictures and the advert - very effective.

my only comment is that can you use pics that are clearly competitors (Masuri/cough Shrey lid and Ravi Bop GM gear)?

Again - well done this is such an exciting time for you.

The competitor question is one for the adidas marketing team as the person who did the sketches has no knowledge of the cricket market so i guess looked up a generic helmet when doing his re-search using the WWW.

As you say without knowledge of the market you would immediately associative them with the named brands and it isnt a slur upon them simply the need for the illustration of a more traditional shaped helmet.

Are the designs copyrighted by those brands?

Could easily be a slazenger and a shrey helmet etc etc

BOPARA, even better!

Yeah, I think you can use other peoples products in your own avderts, its rare beacuse people don't want to even show other products, there's no such thing as bad publicity etc. I don't think you can say anything you like about your competitors though, it has to be fair... Ish!
