2 tons in 2 games for roy. Batting well he is. Cant see us getting the same score this weekend as oppo on paper are stronger. Who you got this weekend?
I see your at Orsett, we played there earlier this season and the track was a bit slow and tacky, but played a 20/20 there last week and it was a road. We've got Billericay away, hopefully the track is up to it's usual standard.

I've played at Orsett twice this year.  Very slow and tacky, about 20 minutes too early on all cuts and pulls.  Turned loads.

Had a 2020 there where we defended 135... Our fourth choice first team spinner ended up 4-2-9-4 and second team 15 yr old leggie went at 4 an over.  With Whitlock, Abbas and Mudalige you should be pretty handy over there.

Yeah having a Sri lanka A spinner helps,  Mudalige turns it square, but strangely he doesn't seem to throw it ;)

IT should be a good game against them, although they had a strange one against GPR I think last week. I am hoping for a slow one this weekend to suit our 3 spinners

That made me chuckle. He has the most orthodox action I have seen from a Sri Lankan.

It should do, even my very part time offies turned in our 20/20.

Probably why he never played a test :)

After not really playing much this year due to various reasons I've started to get a little better in recent weeks. Started off with 14, 4 and 8 and a couple of short horrible bowling spells but in the last two midweek games I've had 26* and 31. No massive scores but for me its pretty good.

Most encouraging was that the 31 was against a side containing a fair few of their first team players who are 2 divisions above us in the YDCL. I always used to be a bowler but gave up for years and since starting again 4 years ago I've been more of a batsman but never had much confidence in my ability to do anything but slog a few quick runs. Getting a couple of decent scores batting in a sensible way is a bit of a morale boost. Also bowled better in the midweek game this week than I have for a bit.

I had a 1-1 coaching session a couple of weeks ago which I think has helped, no major changes as in general the coach thought both my batting and bowling were good for the level I play. Batting wise worked on foot movement to play cover drives instead of hitting back straight over the top and loosening the bottom hand. For the bowling it was cocking the wrist during run up and landing better as my front foot was too open meaning I was prone to push the ball down leg.

Sadly I still seem to plant my foot straight down the track and even this week I missed a few wide full balls I should have hit through the covers as my foot was nowhere near the ball - plenty to work on but at least things are getting better and I feel like I may be able to bat sensibly and stick around a bit.

A decent season thus far, just keep getting myself out rather than feeling under pressure from bowling.  Moved to standing on middle and off (right hander) to stop my issue of getting bowled, working very well.

440 runs this season @30+  Just not making them in the Saturday league!  Have about 250-300 on Sunday's!

57* and 61* in the LMS in the week too.

Had a bit of coaching at the start of the year that has done me the world of good.  25 years old and still learning in a big way.  Loving cricket atm though, perhaps down to giving up skippering this season!  :D

Played for my firsts today in the EAPL, came in at ten and got told to enjoy myself made 13* off 10 and them got let down by my number 11! It's such a difference stepping up to playing in that league, people in your ear all the time! Although I'm the worst batsmen to try and get into my ear as I will just try and turn it into a conversation!

Back playing Saturday this week as it was a cup game and many people were away(could or could not be a coincidence)

They let me open, and I'm seriously out of form. So just looked to put the bad ball away.
Edge through 4th slip for one,
Full toss one bounce 4
Square cut for 1
Flick of the pads for 2
And then nailed another full toss straight at mid on,

So that's actually my 5 score of 8 this season. Beggining to think I have a problem.
Still highly unfit too.

We won though, they got 101all out, we knocked them off 1 down with 20overs left.

Having 3 weeks off playing.

First two to take my son round university open days. The third because of the tour de france.

Tomorrow will be going to watch the Lashings Allstars play at Collingham & Linton Cricket Club, should be an entertaining afternoon.

Took 4-30 today which was pleasing...
Tried Liam Plunkett tactics of going round the wicket to right handed batsman and it had good effect!
All 4 wickets were from round the wicket including 3 clean bowled and one LBW, also tried some short stuff and slammed the batsman in the grill, weirdly pleasing ahahaha ✌️😃

didn't go particularly well opened the bowling but didnt get a wicket. took a catch but managed to miss the ball a few times . opened the batting saw off the opening bowlers they only have 3 overs each. then spooned the spin bowl straight to mid off. i think i have had one decent score im my last 7 innings really starting to annoy me.

Won again..... Not lost since week 1!

Bowled them out for 63. Knocked them off for 3.

Got a nice stumping, before carrying my bat for 38 notout.

Miss next week due to weekend away with girlfriend.
