Played two games this week one on Sunday and one yesterday.
Sunday's game was 40 overs, after 20 overs they were going at 6 an over, eventually we restricted them to 162. I didn't bowl but I took a brilliant catch supposedly, the guy hit it, and it was going over me as I was at long on, I had to run backwards, it was really high in the air and I thought I had lost it, kept going back, and jumped and dived and took it one handed. I knew if I attempted to take it with both hands I would have fluffed it, but the roar from the team and crowd made it feel special. The captain had said he's seen many amazing catches but that was the best. The batsman that got out came up to me at tea and asked if I had caught it, I said yes he replies with 'that was excellent, I'm not even pissed off that I got out to that'.
We went on to bat, with the run rate never in danger, but then had a massive collapse towards the end, 5 batsman out for 15 runs, 4 batsmen going out in one over, and I was the one that started the collapse with a duck. We were all out for 105 in 25 overs, catch was in vain.
Tuesday's game, got demoted to number 9 for batting. We posted a total of 190 in 20 overs, I didn't get to bat. We then bowled out the opposition for 62 with them at 12 for 4 at one point. I finally got to bowl once again but it was only an over and a half, took one wicket, but it was a hollow one since it was the last one, but it was their highest scoring batsman.
I seem to be played as a specialist fielder according to some mates, I have the most catches in the team, bat in the low middle order, and have only bowled twice in 7 games.
