20points for a win. Plus 5 bonus points if you take all ten wickets in the oppos innings.

If you lose. You get points based on second inings.
3points for taking 3wickets/30% of first innings total
5points for taking 5wickets/50% of first innings total
7points for taking 7wickets/70% of first innings total
9points for taking 9wickets/90% of first innings total

Has anyone else started the season in woeful form with the bat? I haven't found the middle in three innings averaging ten. On Sunday I was bowled out trying to block a full toss from a spinner. I'm so alarmed I've booked an hour on the bowling machine tonight.

Yep batted 3 last Sunday made 15 out playing across the line and giving a caught and bowled and on Saturday batted 3 again before outside edging for 7

Not the best start at all

Our first league game of the season was on saturday - we (2nds) couldn't raise a side so had to forfit.  At close of play friday we had five players after the 1sts had creamed off a few to fill in some gaps...

In total we counted 22 players who are registered but couldn't play because of one thing or another.  Blinking frustrating!  Two whole sides not available.

Thanks, I can see merit in that system. Possibly keeps the competition a little closer for the lower teams than a straight win/loss system.

Inter club friendly yesterday which was a final chance to get some cricket in before the league starts (or is rained off as the case is likely to be this weekend)

Took 2-33 off 6 overs (got some tap in my last 2 overs from a big hitter, had 2-7 at one stage!) and found some sort of form getting 20 with the bat. Saw off the quicks at the death to get us needing 8 an over off the last 4, to edge a long hop through to the keeper trying to dispatch a dinky dobly! I prefer pace on the ball than that any day lol

Played my first Sunday game in a few years this weekend.

Batting: 18* off 6 deliveries (1x4, 1x6)
Bowling: 7.1-5-10-5

Regardless of performance, thoroughly enjoyed the slower pace of the game and the friendly opposition.

My batting average for this season is one higher than my bowling average.. That makes me an all-rounder right? Bowled three overs at the death and got 3-9 then caught at mid on for a painfully slow 4 runs as we got skittled.

Given the winter work I've done pretty bad considering I haven't broken in the 20's yet...I'm timing and middling a lot but everything I hit seems to go to a fielder

We had our first league game of the season on Saturday. All out for 123.... (personally out for 7 - LBW), probably 20 short of a par score on the poor wicket and at our level. But a great bowling performance meant we skittled them for 88! Great effort.

Sunday was my first friendly of the season away to Balcombe. They made 225-3 with their captain retiring on 100 (who has apparently scored over 100 tons for the club!). A beleaguered younger side of ours attempted to reach the target, I fell for 56 when we were 115 behind just as the timed aspect of the game ended and 20 overs left were kicking in. Unfortunate as I think we might have been able to reach it if I'd stuck around. Ended 168 all out. Good fun day!

Played our bank holiday game yesterday, scored 54 off 25 balls which was my first 50 ever, put on 78 with our number 7 as well off around 30 balls. And took 5-29 so all in all not a bad day at the office, oh and we won by over 100 runs so!

Typical! Weather looks bad for Saturday. First league game of the season too.
