Didn't get a bat yesterday, was in 9, but our captain opened and got run out in the 50th over for 91. We had a couple of our firsts playing because the team they were meant to play has had to fold a team and is only playing their seconds fixtures now, and our 1s opening bowler got 67 not out with some massive hits. We got 262/6 declared, opened up with the old ball and from my first 4 overs I went for one run, and if gully had been in an orthodox position it could have been a catch not a single! Took a diving catch in the covers that lobbed over the cordon off a mishit pull, and then came back to finish the innings off. Final figures were 6.4-3-6-2, one bowled through the gate by a wrongun, and number 11 smashed it straight to mid off, but had been dropped by the keeper two balls earlier. With my haul I now have 7 wickets in the league at 6 :)

Gutted for you! Nightmare when this happens.
I had a game last season where I batted at number 3.
I came in at around 10 overs in a 45 over match and ended up at 97 not out after the 45 overs!
I was happy with how I batted but you can't help thinking about how it might have been!
I'm sure you are thinking that if you had of just taken 1 extra run or if that 2 had of been midfielded and gone for 4, then you would have got to your century!
But you obviously batted well so at least you know you can do it !

Yeah very pleasing to know I can do it! I was on 33 after about 8 overs but when I was nearing 50 (I knew I was close but wasn't sure how close) I kept going for the 1s and 2s rather than try the boundary.  Hit a 4 through midwicket to bring up the 50.  Kept going for this style as you can see above.  The legs started giving up when I was on 70 odd!! Aching so much now

I know what it feels like. I've been run out twice at my village sides home ground on 99. As a result I've never scored a ton on our home pitch. Gutted!!

My season been very below par with the bat, with scores of 4, 6, 20*, 6, 0 and 2...
Suffering from very low confidence and after my performance this weekend the 0 and 2 I'm really angry with myself...
Bowling hasn't been too bad, bowled solidly today with a lot of shape and beat the bat a few times and felt unlucky to only get 1 wicket...
The only positive with the bat is it can't get much worse than this

Decent weekend, first 2 league games for me, previous 2 week have been rain hit.

Saturday I hit 32 and took a wicket and we won.

Today I took 2-15 off 8 and then went in at number 8 (usually bat 3) with us collapsing, we were 50-6 chasing 163 with 20 left, me and our number 4 put on 115 to see us home with a ball to spare, he hit 78* and I had 52*

The red ink is going very well

8* with the bat and 2-23 off 8 overs opening the bowling.

In total 18 overs 6-59 this weekend, pretty enjoyable couple of days.

I'm aching, a shade of red I didn't know existed due to sunburn, but I've had a great time!  :D

Game called off as we couldn't raise a team for our Sunday team (my only adventure in cricket), the worst bit was it was meant to be an away game against the team that has the best teas in the league.

2nd match of the season, felt very comfortable than nicked off behind for 5.

All out for a pathetic 69, and they got it for no wickets down in the first hour after tea in a timed game.

Poor batting, poor bowling but we fielded well and 2 pints of Bowman's ales swift One from Droxford slightly lifted the spirits.

Today I took a slip catch to dismiss a genuine England Legend, I think I was happier than when I last scored a hundred!  :D  Anyone want to hazard a guess at who it was?

First sat march for me this season.

Went in at 5.
First ball an awesome straight drive that i stood and admired........... for it to stop in a very damp puddle on the outfield, and then nearly got run out scrambling it make it a one.

Next ball was an awesome off drive for one(generally oppos put 4 men on the boundary as soon as i walk in. Dam reputation)

I then edged the 3rd ball i faced to gully trying to drive over cover.

Total innings. 1,1,w. Not a great day, we lost too. 50 runs short meant oppo knocked our 164 off with 6 overs left, only 3 wkts down.

Your 2014 Season

Really a heart breaking game this weekend.

We scored 101 all out off 18 overs and we had opposition under control at 31/4 at the end of 8th over.

9th over goes for 13 including 3 wides and 10th went for 18 more cause of lots of full deliveries on the leg that were called No balls and quiet a few wides.

Score was 62/4 off 10.

We got 2 more wickets and they needed 20 something off last 5 overs. 2nd ball of the sixteenth over the bowler drifted a little too wide on the leg ball kept low and I wasn't able to collect it, ended up being 4 byes off a wide ball.

Game ended in the 19th after some good bowling and fielding display.

On the personal front i was out for duck opening our innings. That hurts specially as last weeks game was called off due to rain and I was really looking forward to this game.
