Doubt we'll play Saturday, storms forecast. Either way, I've barely had a run after netting all winter and am now in the TFC role. Is the weather a blessing in disguise?

Wow that's quite a sad sight!

Having looked at the forecast this morning in the South east; looks like it's improved! But it's going to be one of those annoying days where it rains all morning and once the games cancelled the sun comes out

What you mean is "But it's going to be one of those annoying days where it rains all morning and once the games cancelled the sun comes out, but the outfield has turned into a bog and the pitch is a damp sponge so there's no chance you could have played!"

I didn't mean the ground pictured, but I was referring to our home ground which has very good drainage and decent covers. Just seem to have captains that are too quick in cancelling which is very frustrating!

I'm yet to play on a decent pitch all year yet all of them have been staying so low because of the moisture in the ground

Captain's cancel mainly to stop the oppo having to travel if unnecessary.

I agree with this statement. I have a lovely trip to Wallington on Saturday and having to navigate round the Epsom Derby. If it is going to rain heavy as they say I would very much appreciate a call before we have to leave at 10.30am

we have the un-enviable trip to kingstonian on saturday to watch the rain, they are rubbish at the moment so cannot afford to miss out on the points really. sunday will be nice as away at chobham in my social side. great ground, and pub within walking distance for lunch before the game

well forecast for mid wales gone from 30mm rain Saturday to 12.8mm rain for Saturday so just hoping it keeps coming down

not bloody likely though

Also because they realise that people with families and girlfriends would rather be at home than sat in a clubhouse waiting for the rain to stop! I know what I would rather do!

Our local forecast has reduced the rain from about 15mm to about 10mm. I sense a bit of a back peddle from the weather men. I have lost count the number of times the forecast says one thing 5 days out and is completely different 24-48 hours out. Common cockup's seem to be taking cloud coverage to mean rain and getting the timings wrong by several hours. I reckon the 5 day gives you a rough idea and the 24 hour one is fairly correct in timings, if not intensity.

Last trick, forecast "localised" showers or thunderstorms. It's a way of being vague and hedging your bets if it stays dry.
