I have got some good news over the next few days The Dcotor will come on and explain but because so many expressed a intrest but in other shapes the offer will be open to a few shapes including All B3 sponsored players that include Stephen Mullaney and Will Bragg and Greame Wagg plus a few other special shapes. How streaky intend on doing it is revaloutionary and i will leave it to him to explain it baffled me...
So well done the forum speak and we will listen..
We were going to keep this simple and offer the Butterfly grade in one shape (the DB1) and make these up (into bats) and then offer them on the Forum, but after discussing with ProCricket I think you guys wanted a bit more choice in the design. So I have had a think, and have come up with an idea of offering you more choice. Below is a few designs both Series and a few of our sponsored players that you can choose from;
Now there are two things that dictate bat weights 1. Model/Shape and 2. Density of willow, so we can say the Model is fixed when you choose from one of the above. Now the desity varies as Willow is a natural product, and as ProCricket has already said in this thread Butterfly timber is in general more dense than other grades. If we assume the same Density (400) for the above designs the weights would be;
Ref. Model Weight * based on 400 Density
A. DB1 2lb 9oz
B. DB2 2lb 11oz
C. DB3 2lb 10.5oz
D. Bragg 2lb 10.5oz
E. Mull 2lb 12.25oz
F. Wagg 2lb 12oz
G. #1271 2lb 15oz
An increase in Density of 10 increases the weight by approximately 1oz, so for a Density of 410, a DB1 would weigh 2lb 10oz, or a Density of 390 a DB2 would weigh 2lb 10oz.
So if I post a picture of a few Butterfly clefts with the Densities written on them, you should be able to work out what each shape would weigh with particular clefts and densities. We can do all of this for the same price previously quoted and you can still customise your bat (handle length & shape, sticker colour etc).
Does that make sense?
