An item is only as worth as much as someone is willing to pay. I am sure at £125 there will be a huge amount of interest. I'd have liked it if you could have a choice of clefts etc. But I am sure the boys at B3 won't disappoint you

Matt maybe not clefts but no bat will leave without you selecting out of a selection mate.

I know what you mean Tony our only worry would be getting the weight down in that profile as butterfly is heavier but never say never mate it was a thread to just show you guys what is on offer and create a interest but all questions as you know I will respond too.

Right had a few enquiries maybe I could have been clearer.

Db1 shape only and they will be made up bats bar the handle and you decided the handle.

We want to keep the costs down so it will be only this shape and will be able to be selected on the weights we have.

Hope this all helps the shape is designed to give a better pick up that's why db1 has been selected.

How heavy is heavier weights ... Say 2.10 upwards?

I've never had a butterfly so might be interested in one if they aren't super heavy

John I will not know until there machined mate but we shall know more when there done.

I suspect 2-9 upwards though but might get the odd special one lighter.

118 is serious coin when only using a 10 priced cleft.
How much is a G1 cleft? How much do G1's sell for? Significantly higher markup on those.

£118 for a bat made by a boutique brand in England, it's very very well priced.

I though so too but as the forum sponsors new boys i guess we will accept it and move on.

We will be running another forum day i hope many can come along to see the process and understand the sheer knowledge and skill both in the machine and traditional field we have and I fully understood one thing that you do not work in this field to get Rich you do it because of the people around you the customers too and the great stories and legends of old it either in the blood or it isn't.

But where would we be without a few detractors recently we had a customer service issue and because of customers of this forum the loophole was filled and better working practice has prevailed.

Must add we are one of the  few who make all our bats and i mean all our bats on our premises.

What you see with us is what you get I'm a customer at heart.

I have got some good news over the next few days The Dcotor will come on and explain but because so many expressed a intrest but in other shapes the offer will be open to a few shapes including All B3 sponsored players that include Stephen Mullaney and Will Bragg and Greame Wagg plus a few other special shapes. How streaky intend on doing it is revaloutionary and i will leave it to him to explain it baffled me... :(

So well done the forum speak and we will listen..

We were going to keep this simple and offer the Butterfly grade in one shape (the DB1) and make these up (into bats) and then offer them on the Forum, but after discussing with ProCricket I think you guys wanted a bit more choice in the design. So I have had a think, and have come up with an idea of offering you more choice. Below is a few designs both Series and a few of our sponsored players that you can choose from;

Now there are two things that dictate bat weights 1. Model/Shape and 2. Density of willow, so we can say the Model is fixed when you choose from one of the above. Now the desity varies as Willow is a natural product, and as ProCricket has already said in this thread Butterfly timber is in general more dense than other grades. If we assume the same Density (400) for the above designs the weights would be;

Ref.   Model                  Weight * based on 400 Density
A.   DB1                  2lb 9oz
B.   DB2                    2lb 11oz
C.   DB3                  2lb 10.5oz
D.   Bragg                 2lb 10.5oz
E.   Mull                  2lb 12.25oz
F.   Wagg                 2lb 12oz
G.   #1271              2lb 15oz

An increase in Density of 10 increases the weight by approximately 1oz, so for a Density of 410, a DB1 would weigh 2lb 10oz, or a Density of 390 a DB2 would weigh 2lb 10oz.

So if I post a picture of a few Butterfly clefts with the Densities written on them, you should be able to work out what each shape would weigh with particular clefts and densities. We can do all of this for the same price previously quoted and you can still customise your bat (handle length & shape, sticker colour etc).

Does that make sense?

That's an awesome offer streaky! Plus also explains the intricacy that goes into each bat made! Some lovely shapes on offer too, not quite sure who uses the 1271.....
