I do question the ratings of aero products if I am honest.  Wearing my p2s, had the bowling machine on 70 the other week and got hit square on the thigh and it hurt like hell.  Big bruise too...

P1's are a different level, had mine for the last couple of seasons and can't recall one bruise.

Then the next level again is Strettons! Well worth the extra money IMO  ;)

The difference between aero and strettons is that whilst you may not be able to recall a bruise appearing with aero, i can honestly say i can't recall the last time i even felt a ball hit me with strettons.

Whenever someone with a bit of zip bowls anything vaguely at me/leg side (i'm not a great puller of the ball) i just sort of waft the bat so as to convince the umpires i am playing a shot and then i try and get my (No Swearing Please) in the way so i can deflect the ball off my strettons for 4.

Aero are a fantastic mass market product and great value for money (i've had mine nearly 8 years and still going strong) but the strettons are the genuine rolls royces. They will last a lifetime, the shape/design can be customised if you want to be totally at ease when it comes to covering up your pasty thighs and George's service/aftercare is impeccable.

At first I loved the idea of them and the feel but just couldn't get them to mould to my thighs...which resulted in me debating about ditching them and going back to my aeros. However George very kindly did a fitting session with me on FaceTime and helped me shape the pads to my thigh. Before I shaped properly I was using the bespoke thigh straps but I thought they were a little bulky as the pads wouldn't stay in place with the normal thin straps. However I know where the pads with the thin white straps and they stay in place perfectly! The pads are great and I genuinely don't know I am wearing them...and I'm not saying that just because I own a set and may have been daft/lucky (which ever way you look at it) enough to pay £95 for a set. The pads will last for ages, and I know if they break anytime soon George will be at hand to repair them, as that is the confidence his customer service gives you. Top thigh pads and a true contender against Remfry - just look at the amount of pros using strettons, who used to use Remfry...and basically most of the county players use them.

6 years and my P1's are still going strong. Can't go wrong with them, offer top protection and comfort in my opinion grey value for money

Love my P1s, fit really well, forget I'm wearing them once batting and, after 7 years, still going strong.

I may have the wrong size but I find my P2's tuck too far down behind the tophat of my pads. I find this quite irritating.

I only really wear them in nets when I tend to take more risks against the quicks but out in the middle I wear the Kook shorts with the slide in pads and no inner thigh protection.

I'd like to try the Fox's - perhaps next time a used set comes up.

My P2s have lasted me four years now, and still have loads of life left in them! Cost per wear and all that!  :) Otherwise they are just extremely comfortable, and as others have said, you barely notice you are wearing them.  I've been hit on them a few times and never felt anything - rarely do I face any bowlers over 70mph though!
