That is a shocking! He can get them custom made by his own brand - All custom bats are the same, aren't they? - Its your call on the shape, size, weight etc so all of them will be identical - are you 110% on this aidy?

Musama that is utter crap!, just coz of the specs doesnt mean their all the same, pressing? the way its manufactured?, location (as there probs made in india and imported? come on think about it!

and yeh im sure

and you think he could be a little more descreet by using a bat without the stamp or gettin rid of it by sanding, shows how much he cares!

If I get a custom made bat from Solitaire, surely it will be the same as a custom made bat with the same specs from Warsop or Gray Nicholls?

Haha no, the shape may be the same. But some of the most important bits of a bat are the willow and pressing which will differ. Balance will differ depending on where there batmaker puts the weight and how good he is at it.

That is what sets apart the top batmakers from the likes of Solitaire

In case you didn't notice Aidy, im not a bat maker. And in case you didn't notice this either - I don't comment on topics regarding the manufacture of bats.

All my life all I have asked a proper bat maker is that I want a 2.9 bat with 8-12 grains, 100% sapwood, lowish middle. And to be honest I couldn't care less about the process. However, I see that there is indeed a difference!

Should help me when I try to make my own training bat at the end of july!

Come on guys no need to argue eh? Bat making is just the same as any other form of hand manufacturing! You could get 10 bat makers to make a bat and at the end of the process one would suit me, another would suit musama and another yourself aidy! As they say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

And as an old and wise coach once said to me . . . . "cricket is an art not a science"

Lets get back to helping CD with Buzz eh?  ;D

i agree with dan...

"The Stinger is Buzz's signature bat. Made from the highest quality English Willow, these bats are constructed with world class care and craftsmanship. Designed in New Zealand, 'the Stinger' features quality aesthetics to match its quality construction."

Wonder who makes them??
