Hi, recently purchased a bat, which is pretty special! However, upon closer inspection, I found these little cracks all over the inside edge and was wondering if anyone could tell me why this happens? It's brand new, not faced a ball, and I doubt it was damaged in transit, as it goes all the way up the inside edge! Oh, and it's a GM Argon F2 Original Limited Edition.
And the face. Really nice, but pretty average for an OLE! (I really like the 7 very even grains, but shouldn't really have those blemishes!)
Not sure what it could be, but maybe due to the drying of the cleft? The bat was kept in a plastic bag and sealed with a rubber band, so doubt that it's due to moisture loss during storage. Maybe heat damage? Really gutting, as it's under 2.10, has a PI of 2, and is probably about as affordable as an OLE is ever going to get for me!
Cheers in advance!
