Let's cut to the Chase... :-)
« on: September 22, 2014, 09:22:39 PM »

Evening All,

Very pleased to confirm that we will be stocking Chase for the first time as of next month.  Neil and I will be visiting Dummer Down Farm on October 25th to hand-pick our first batch of Chase bats, and much like with H4L, Newbery, Gray-Nicolls et al, we will be taking pre-orders in advance of the visit, so if you want a new Chase bat, and want it hand-picked exactly to your specs, simply pay us an £80 deposit and send through your specs!  :)

We will also be stocking their batting gloves (FLC highly recommended!!) and wicket keeping equipment and, possibly, bags as well, all of which can be pre-ordered...

I will update this thread with prices etc. after I've set them tomorrow.

We hope to hear from you soon and please feel free to chase us about Chase!  :D

Paul

I still vividly remember the ping of that from knocking it in two years ago - it was that good!  :) Glad it's still going strong...

Just went to the Chase website and their gear looks very classy indeed.

Paul, can other options (such as LB) be specified at a fairly specific weight (and not a weight range as shown on their website)?

Excellent news! I've always been interested in Chase bats, so it will be good to see some in the flesh. So to speak.

So far, I think it's been Taunton (M&H), but will probably be Slazenger soon as their warehouse has moved up to Wigan! They are long days and the transport costs really add up, which is one of the reasons why our bats will never be the cheapest on the market...

Vincent, as with H4L, bats can pretty much be made to order with Chase.  Definitely one of the benefits of the bat maker doing it all in-house!  :)

Eurgh, another brand I've wanted to try out... Do you know if they use a CNC, Paul? I may have gotten brands muddled up, but I think I remembered a Chase video on Youtube, which showed them using a CNC. Not that it matters, since B3 and GM have both impressed me with their technology, but it doesn't hurt to know! :)

I believe it was a Copy Lathe in a Twittter image. Someone commented on it on here about March time this year.

I don't know yet, Chad, as I haven't been to Dummer Down Farm before! I don't want to speculate on something like this until I've seen it with my own eyes...

The FLC pads are the best I have seen, in terms of materials and what one can ascertain from looking in a shop, they are serious bits of kit.
