I would be really tempted to pay the money for a GM re-furb for this bat - it will come back looking brand new

I was tempted by that with the older one also, but I do remember someone sending one off then having some issues as GM weren't really too happy with sponsored players giving away bats.

If I took a walk through my local wooded area, I wouldn't see as many grains as this thread is offering!!

I recently had 3 OLE's sent off for a refurb to GM and they were really good! The finish on them was unbelievable and they turned them around in a week which I thought was great. The only issue I has was that they missed my request for 2 grips on each of the bats which was a little annoying however the quality of the refurb helped me get over it!

Fair enough Jake, probably because you're giving them their income

I contacted them about a replacement for a storm damaged bat bought in NZ, and they couldn't have been more helpful.

Just wondered if this was just one issue they were a bit thorny on.

I'll see if I can dig some out!

Sadly had to sell 2 of them to help fund a holiday but there is still £35 left over which has gone towards my 'B3 Fund' :D

If you took the scuff off would they really be able to tell its Dent's bat? Shape doesn't look too dissimilar from a regular octane.

I never though of that, the first one I had had an unusual shape and marking to register when and who it was made for. I'll maybe just give GM a call and ask.

Finally got my grubby mitts of this last night, will give it a clean up and post some photos. Weight is 2'9 and it goes pretty well.

Was going to ask you what it's like mate. Did it come with the 1 1/2 grips on?

I don't know what the standard Octane shape is, but it's a pretty similar shame to the one I started this thread with, maybe just a slightly lower middle, but the same chunky edges. Had a half grip underneath. It also had a half face length of batting tape on each edge under the antiscuff which was a pain to remove. Just about managed to get the A/S off without losing the stickers.

Maybe someone with one can tell me if it's the standard Octane shape or not.

Dent, strangely using an Adidas bat with GM softs against Essex, returned to the Octane for his 180 against Derby today. It was the off the shelf shape.
