No real secret, tried not to eat rubbish or overeat, hit the gym alot and done plenty of gardening inbetween.
Same here try to eat whole foods and as organic as possible and not too much, it worked for 100's of year before packaged processed foods. Rarely snack just 3 main meals really with the very occasional indulgence and hey presto no need for wonderful diet fads!
I read somehere that bowlers back in the day of Larwood et al would stay fit by physical work and gardening  ;)

Still progressing well, total lost so far this winter is somewhere around 25 lbs, so another 10 lbs since end of November. No real secret, tried not to eat rubbish or overeat, hit the gym alot and done plenty of gardening inbetween. The latter can burn plenty of calories, try pulling up bushes and tree roots, lifting and laying 20kg rolls of turf, hammering down borders, cutting down branches and you won't need a gym session afterwards! Currently I'm the lightest I have been for a good 10-15 years, my back feels good if not 100% just yet and fitness is improving all the time.

...and standing in the cold for 6 hours on a Saturday tends to burn some calories.

Not sure if its of any use too you guys but I was struggling to drop fat even after leaving the fatty food & beer alone. Came across carb blockers which have been working very well. I take 1 a day 40min before dinner and have seen a marked improvement in fat loss.

I've never used these but from the little if do understand they cause carbs to pass out of the stomach and into the intestine, where where it is turned into triglycerides. So you don't get rid of the calories. The body just uses them in a different form. And it may cause some discomfort.
Have you also reduced carb intake?

I've been curious about all the slimming pills out there. From what I have read, very few do anything good and most are useless at best. I'm sure it works for you but the only thing I've read that is close to being proven to work is Protein powder followed by multi vitamins. I take protein powder in shakes and it feels like it helps recovery from exercise. The other reason which I think Tim mentioned is to try and fight off losing muscle mass as you slim down. Apart from adding a few hundred calories to the diet, the 30-40 grams of protein help recovery and fight off the ravages of time. I think it's something like you lose 50% of your muscle mass between 25 and 50. A major reason for the metabolism slowing down (correct me if I'm wrong).

Ok, I'd research in to them before just taking them. My grasp (i'm no doctor) of them is that instead of turning the carb into ready to use energy i.e. sugar (which you are blocking). It is turning it into triglycerides (fat deposits in the blood), too much can cause heart problems. Fat is good it's a steady energy release, but like everything too much of it is bad, just like carbs. The weight you are losing is probably water. Are you low carbing as well? I've heard of people taking another substance called Alli (i think) to remove the Fat created, but this just seems like needless supplements to me. If you are looking to kick start weight loss you could try low carb for a short time or intermittent fasting, its cheaper and better for you.

Triglycerides  (Trigs for short) are actually the worst form of cholesterol. Taking something that converts carbs to trigs is really, strongly, not recommended.

The research I did prior to trying them did not suggest the same findings as you have found but its definitely food for thought. My plan was only to try them for two months and see where it leaves me. Might have to reconsider using them :)

Never used car blockers. But have used thermorepure and thermorepure extreme of my protein. They certainly help. Our lass say I'm like a radiator and the suppress hung well.

Neither are as good as grenade though. Those are the bomb when it comes to fat burners.

Like I said I'm no doctor, so feel free to take my comment with a pinch of salt, but I'd always err on the side of safety and natural products, as I've never seen any long term impact research on these products and almost all the research that there is, has been paid for by the companies that make them.

Time to resurrect this old gem of a thread.

I've lost 10lb since the middle of March (roughly 1lb a week) without doing too much different. Eat less and walk more.

Even with 20lb gone since Xmas I'm still a fat knut mind you... Long way to go but I'm on the right track

Has it affected your girth at all?
