No mate I was asking about shapes and different grades that bats come in etc. he said we only have G1 bats and I sounded like someone that wasn't looking for the quality of bat they produce they where his words at which point I just said no worries mate I'll take my business else where. I know what you mean mate unless it's a massive brand they tend to stay local I mentioned only for the reason of not being able to try one out but as a big distributor I'm sure they play well.

I'm shocked at that mate, i think they only advertise G1 bats on their website. Not sure why.

Speaking of seeing them down south, I haven't seen any of the new style ones down here in Southampton, and have only seen 2 or 3 of the old dragon logo ones (which I thought were much better) but they had problems with the handles I believe.

And funny you should mention Warsop Ryan, not being a million miles from Essex (admittedly it's the wrong side of London for a quick journey) I only see the odd ones around and theyre mostly old ones (with personalised name stickers down the back for the real show offs).

Don't see all that many Chase bats either, and as they're the most local to us that's a real surprise (and shame).

Anyways back to the original post, not sure on the size of the brand used so I can't reference it, but the edge looks huge!

Its a massive shame, I loved my Warsop bat, miles better than the Puma i had at the time. A lot of the brands you've mentioned don't get the exposure they deserve.

Any particular reason why?

I just don't get the huge spine and edges
Too much for show and not go? Maybe

How much better would the pick up be if the bulge was removed and the edges taken down to 25mm ish?
I'm sure it wouldn't hurt performance that much,,(I did as much to my old laver)

But then I suppose it wouldn't be fashionable?

Pick up is personal. As long as it is well balanced and performs well, shouldn't matter too much about edge sizes and spine height.

Personally I like the look of this bat.

Looks like a fuller Michael Clarke profile that most Indian makers are pumping out. Does not look anything new or exciting to me, although I would be happy to have one.

Michael Clark has his own profile?

I would like to see more pictures. These duck bill shaped profiles perform well...I was pleasantly surprised by one this season.

I find it fascinating behaviour when a small, boutique bat maker is rude, arrogant, etc. I'm sure many of us have approached small brands with money at-the-ready only to be offended by the owner in some way. Seems like a flawed business model to me..but I digress.

I reckon the bat profile looks great.

What rock have you been hiding under? His doesn't have a huge "duck bill" shape but full and very similar to this.

Agree re; the Michael Clarke profile - that was my first thought when I saw this...

A teammate who only plays occasionally has a Dragon-logo Kippax.  Shame he's never in long enough to see how it goes and he doesn't look after it at all.  Shame, would love to see how it fares, but he's never at nets so I can't have a hit with it.

Perhaps it's the association with Essex? Not everyone's favourite county?
