Philip Hughes got hit by a 90 mph bouncer. To compare your level of bravery to his is disrespectful. The game of cricket most of us play is not very dangerous at all.

Whoa! Steady on!

I'm sorry, but all this "I'll never bat without a helmet again" stuff is nonsense.

It was refreshing to hear that Joe Root was batting in his cap today - albeit only against the spinners.

And if it hasn't affected you in that way that's fine. But to some people, it's an eye opener to how dangerous cricket can be.

Why don't you show some respect, your comments are way off the mark at a time like this.

Can I honestly say I am in total shock that a man could lose his life playing a game he and we all love. I honestly have never thought about the consequences of the game I love and how dangerous cricket can be.

I for one will never walk out to bat without a lid on regardless of bowler, pitch, temp etc.

RIP to a fellow cricket lover.

Soulman has informed me that he regularly faces top quality.fast bowling. I apologise to him.

I maintain that the game of cricket most of us play is nothing like as dangerous as the one the professionals play.

Really guys arguing in a thread dedicated to a bloke being killed? How about showing some respect and start a new topic.

Sad times and some very emotional blokes at the pub all having a drink with mates for Phil Hughes.

Weren't some of these 'emotional blokes' threatening to break people's arms last year?

Bats, have you been drinking? This isn't the time or place for petty arguments.
