So we definitely need a quick review of the Cat
FattucusCattacus
Kit: All the gear, no..... brand loyalty. A nice BB duffle, a horrible sounding polaris bat (that did seem to ping a bit) and dubious unstickered fair of reputed salix origin! It did however look a nice stick.
Facial Hair: very hard to know where the face hair and head hair stopped / started
Bowling: Very deceptive. i would call him the puffer fish. Plenty to feed off but get it a bit wrong and your dead.
Batting: Test standard between deliveries - those practice swings really did look world class
As you can see from the pictures Mr Cat really is a formidable figure. Tall, incredibly light on his feet and of course as strong as on ox from the kit bag lifting workout. :-)
He was very shy from the off and it certainly took him a while to come out of skin!!! cough.
At this point i have to say his bowling was one of great mistry. No clue int he run up or the action but all those years of experience (and hours of mr Sheen) could persuade that ball to not only swing, but swing very late. Not without the odd generous one thrown in but a tricky character non the less.
The confidence with the ball was matched with confidence with the bat - both tasks seemed to involve a lot of swinging.
No doubt many a delivery was despatched to the boundary and when there is a job to be done to bring the team home with that final 30 from the last few overs i'm sure any team would feel confident sending in the Cat!
