To be fair to him - he'll still be making an absolute packet from Adidas no doubt!

I imagine it was important for him to get a gig in the Indian market for this reason alone. Can't imagine Adidas are too keen paying him a packet if he doesn't get in the limelight enough. He's probably getting less from them now with no international career to speak of.

Hope KP is back in Australia for big bash.  There's performance on the ground but the entertainment value he provided when miked up on the field as well as commentating was fantastic!  Flintoff was good as well!
I heard Freddie described as Australia's favourite Pom during the BBL but stone me, if he's not in Australian I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here (filmed in Africa)!

To be fair I'd bite your hand off if you offered me £270,000 to play cricket for 4 weeks!

Probably wouldn't be as happy when you realised your wage had just been cut by over 75% though  :D.

Have to be in the game to play, a few decent knocks and he'll be up and running. If he doesn't get a gig he'll disappear very quickly I reckon. Seemed to do ok in the BB I with the standard of bowling in the IPL should score some runs.

Are IPL deals automatically for a set time or is each one negotiable? They seem to sign people and then ditch them or swathes of people from a team a year later (my guess is with some sort of pay off)

Good on kp. I don't know if I'd turn down the Ipl contract with that sort of money on the table. I hope he scores a shed load & gets back into the team asap.

KP was fantastic for BB, they miked him up and he did commentary when not playing same for Freddie - it was great, can't even remember their on field performance!!

Radio this week talking KP up for 2015 BB, can't wait.

Today Aust v Scotland they had KP on better than the game.

His Tweet about playing Japan by himself hilarious!

You Poms better get on the Irish😜

The guardian's headline seems very positive, the content is less emphatic and the BBC Sports website piece is similar. Now the CWC is over for England he probably represents a welcome diversion.

All the talk this week has been about moving on and planning for the 2019 world cup, I can't see how bringing KP back works with that. Maybe test cricket is a possibility. All of this should have happened this time last year!

Wonder if he walks away from an IPL deal whether he'd get another one?

He'll struggle to get back in the test side, the batting seems fairly solid and it would only push someone's development back, although his experience is a valuable asset.

The ODI is where he would give most impetus to. He could spend the next couple of years being s role model and passing his knowledge into the others whilst playing.

Not sure where he would bat though.

I don't see it happening.
There isn't a slot of the test team.
if the team is cool, trott, ballance bell, root, Ali, butler, stokes, broad, Anderson, plus one.

One day is a shambles so who knows.

I think I'd leave Ballance out push Bell and Root and up slot Kp in after Root... I can't see the Aussie attack intimidating Kp where as Ballance  can be... just an opinion as I'd love to see kp back in the England line uph
